so i am honestly just fed up with these fake sales everywhere lately. im trying to get a new coffee machine—specifically the Breville Bambino—for my new apartment in Chicago but the prices are all over the place and it feels like every 'deal' is just the normal price marked up then discounted back down. i tried tracking it manually on a spreadsheet but who has time for that seriously?? i spent all morning refreshing tabs like a crazy person and i still feel like im gonna overpay. i tried one of those browser extensions a while back but it kept lagging my computer and then started hiding the price history behind a paywall which is just insane to me since the data should be free. i just want something simple that i dont have to pay for that shows me if a price is actually a good deal or just marketing fluff. i need to buy this thing by the end of the month before my move-in date. are there any reliable free price trackers for online shopping that you guys actually trust?

Ngl, those fake sales drive me crazy too. Ive been super satisfied using free tools to save a ton of cash without paying for subscriptions. These are my go-to trackers:

  • CamelCamelCamel for Amazon price history
  • Keepa for really detailed charts Both work well for spotting fake markups on that Breville. Honestly, dont pay for data... these free ones are basically all you need!

tbh it is kinda disappointing how many trackers have fallen off lately. Data scraping is tough. Unfortunately accuracy just isnt what it used to be. Quick question tho, are you mainly checking big retailers or local shops in Chicago??

  • stick with Breville
  • look for open-box units Its better to just grab any espresso maker from this site when prices dip instead of overthinking the PID sensors or technical specs too much.

> i tried tracking it manually on a spreadsheet but who has time for that seriously?? Just catching up on this thread, but to add to the point above: in my experience, trackers arent just for Amazon. Over the years, I've found price-match guarantees are more effective when combined with history data. I once tracked a high-end grinder for months across five retailers. I used PriceBlink to cross-reference sites. It caught a hidden flash sale. Saved me plenty.
