Ive been using price trackers for years to snag deals but lately everything seems to be moving way too fast for my old bookmarks. Im trying to grab an RTX 3060 for under 280 bucks for my brothers birthday next month and CamelCamelCamel just isnt hitting the alerts fast enough anymore. I keep getting the email like an hour after it goes back up in price and its driving me crazy. Ive tried some browser extensions but they keep lagging my chrome tabs when I have too many open. Is there some kind of lightweight script or a better api based tool that sends a push notification to my phone the second the price drops? Really need something that doesnt rely on slow email scrapers...
Stumbled upon this discussion today and I gotta say... I had a pretty rough time with those complex scripts people keep recommending. Unfortunately, they were way too techy for me and I ended up missing a deal on a 3060 Ti just because I misconfigured one little thing. It was super frustrating tbh. I tried those high-end tools thinking theyd be better but they just felt bloated for someone who just wants a quick alert. Heres what I learned after that mess:
I ran into this exact problem trying to build a rig for my cousin last winter when my setup used those clunky extensions that swear they're fast. They just ended up freezing my machine right when the stock hit... kinda learned the hard way that simple is better.
Building on the earlier suggestion, simple methods wont cut it! Love Keepa for amazing granular data and custom Python scripts for millisecond precision. Tbh both crush slow email scrapers!
Same setup here, love it

Unfortunately, a lot of the 'instant' tools just arent as good as expected when you factor in compatibility issues with modern browser updates. Most scripts I've tested lately struggle with security flags, which is super disappointing when you're trying to be fast.
Same setup here, love it
Ngl I totally agree with zxnlkijygz about those complex scripts. I tried to DIY my own setup last year using a custom scraper and it was honestly such a letdown... unfortunately I just kept getting blocked by Amazon and it wasnt nearly as good as I expected for all that work. Not 100% sure what the current meta is, but I think people are moving away from local scripts to hosted stuff:
Saving this whole thread. So much good info here you guys are awesome.
