I am so hyped right now because I finally signed a lease for this amazing loft in the West Loop area of Chicago and I am moving in about three weeks! I have been obsessed with filling my cart with literally everything from air fryers to these cool neon signs for the living room. The problem is I need to get the final okay from my two roommates and my mom (shes helping me pay for the big stuff like the vacuum, love her) but none of them want to make an Amazon account just to see what I picked. My mom is super old school and hates getting marketing emails and my roommates are just lazy honestly haha.
I spent like three hours yesterday adding over 40 items to my cart and I really dont want to have to take a million screenshots and text them one by one because that would be a total nightmare and I'd probably miss something anyway. I did a bit of googling and saw some people talking about Amazon Household but that seems way too intense since you have to share payment methods and stuff and they still need accounts for that? Also found some old blog posts about making Wish Lists public but even then it feels like you have to sign in to really interact with it or see the specific cart I've already built up and I already have everything in the actual cart anyway. I dont want to move everything to a list if I can help it.
I just want a simple link or something I can send in our group chat so they can see the quantities and the total price without them having to deal with a login screen or a Create Account popup. Is there some kind of browser extension or a hidden share cart button I'm missing that works for people who aren't logged in?
Congrats on the loft! Chicago is a vibe. Dealing with Amazon carts is such a pain tho, especially when you have a lot of items like that. I had the same issue with my parents because they absolutely refuse to manage another password. After trying a few things, I found that using a simple browser extension is the most methodical way to handle it. You just click a button and it creates a shareable link that lists everything exactly as it appears in your cart. Honestly, it works well for exactly what you need. It skips the whole login wall and just shows the items and prices to whoever has the link. I have been very satisfied with how it keeps things organized without the headache of screenshots or making everyone sign up for stuff they dont want. I've been using Cart to Link to share Amazon carts with family, makes gift planning way easier.
