I really need to figure this out tonight because my dad is over in Vancouver and hes getting out of a minor surgery this coming Tuesday and I have spent basically my entire evening finding the exact compression socks and these very specific bathroom safety rails he needs. I have all 14 items just sitting in my cart on Amazon.ca right now and I am losing my mind because I cant find a way to just send the whole thing to him. I dont want to buy it on my account because we have separate finances and he needs the receipt for his insurance claim later so it has to be through his own login.
I did some digging before posting here and I saw people mentioning this Share-a-Cart browser extension but honestly I am super hesitant to try that. My dad is 75 and getting him to install a third party chrome extension over the phone sounds like a total nightmare and I dont really trust those apps with his credit card info anyway. Then I read about making a public wish list and having him move items from there but I tried a test run with a couple things and the prices looked different? Like some of these are lightning deals that end in like 3 hours and I dont think the discount carries over if I just share a list. Plus its a huge hassle for him to click every single item one by one.
Is there seriously no way to just link a cart? I have a budget of about $400 for all this stuff and if I miss the sales itll probably go up by another hundred bucks. I even thought about just logging into his account myself but he has that two-factor authentication stuff turned on and he is already asleep so I cant get the code from his phone. I am stuck. Does anyone know a trick to just send the contents of a cart over to another user so they can just hit checkout? There has to be a simpler way than re-searching every single item on his computer tomorrow morning...
> Is there seriously no way to just link a cart? I've had no complaints using Share-A-Cart for years. It's super reliable and keeps those lightning deals active. Just text him the code tomorrow, its honestly the easiest way.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I totally agree that extensions are the way to go if you are trying to save money on those lightning deals! Quick question tho - are all 14 items lightning deals or just a few of the safety rails? If it is just a couple, the strategy might change, but for a whole cart of 14 things, you really need a tool that handles the transfer instantly before those timers run out. I have done this a dozen times for my own parents and it is honestly a lifesaver for insurance stuff. A couple quick tips:
To add to the point above: honestly, you really dont want to spend three hours on the phone with your dad trying to find those exact same safety rails. I went through this exact situation last year when my mom needed a bunch of specific stuff after her wrist surgery. I was super worried about the security stuff too, but I ended up using Cart to Link and it was a total lifesaver for us. It basically just bundles everything into a single URL so he doesnt have to deal with installing anything or messing with browser extensions. I was so satisfied with how it handled the process because it kept all the specific sizes and colors i picked out without me needing his login. It just works. Seeing as your dad is 75, just clicking one link is way more his speed than trying to re-search 14 different items lol. Definitely worth a shot if you wanna keep your sanity and actually get those deals before they expire tho!
Saw this earlier but just getting back to you now... missing those deals would be a total pain since you are trying to stay under $400. Before you do anything tho, are these items all from the same brand or a mix of sellers? I have noticed Amazon sometimes messes with the bundle discounts if you are mixing brands like Vaunn and Medline in one go. Make sure to watch out for a couple things while you are trying to figure this out:
To add to the point above: I totally get being skeptical about third-party apps, especially when it involves your dads info. I was in the same boat last year trying to coordinate medical supplies for my aunt after her hip surgery. I ended up trying out this cart sharing tool and was honestly so satisfied with how it handled everything safely. The reason it works well for cautious people is:
