I am honestly so stressed trying to get this home studio kit ordered by Thursday before the prices jump again. I have like 15 items in my Amazon UK basket and I need my housemate to see the total and the specific brands because we're splitting the 250 pound cost.
I was looking at using that Share-a-Cart extension but I dont know if its safe or if it even works for the UK site properly. My other thought was just making a public Wish List but that takes ages to move everything over and I'm worried things will sell out while I'm clicking around. Or should I just risk it and give them my login details? What is the fastest way to just send the whole cart over to someone else...
> Or should I just risk it and give them my login details? Please dont ever share your login. I did that once with a flatmate and they accidentally charged my card for their own shopping later... huge mess. Honestly, Share-a-Cart is the safest way to handle this. It works perfectly on the UK site and keeps your account secure. Just be careful and verify the items and the total once they open the link.
@Reply #1 - good point about security, but i definitely disagree with using generic link generators. they can be quite unreliable with the UK site session cookies. ive been extremely satisfied using Share Amazon cart for my studio builds. it is a much more methodical way to ensure the brands and prices stay locked in so you dont miss out. works well for me. no complaints.
TL;DR: Use a link generator tool to save time! I literally just did this last month when my brother and I were building our podcast setup. It was such a total lifesaver because I was panicking about those price hikes too! I found this amazing way to just blast a link over instead of screen capping everything like a crazy person. It took like two seconds for him to see every cable and mic! btw there's a Chrome extension called Cart to Link that converts your Amazon cart into a shareable link, works across all regions too.
> Or should I just risk it and give them my login details? id really suggest against sharing logins, it just isnt worth the risk. ive been super satisfied using specific extensions for this and they work well for my needs, no complaints. however, i kinda disagree with just picking the first one mentioned here without checking. things change so fast with the uk site security. you should probably just search youtube or reddit for a brand comparison between the main tools. i saw a really solid video about this not too long ago that compares share-a-cart vs the others in terms of reliability. just look up amazon uk cart sharing comparison and it will show you exactly which one is the most reliable right now. much better than just guessing.
I just stumbled upon this discussion and had to chime in! Building a home studio is such an amazing, high-energy process, but I totally get the anxiety over those shifting Amazon UK prices. Reliability is basically the most critical factor when you are dealing with 15 different items like that. When I was setting up my own professional recording space last year, I was incredibly methodical about ensuring every single cable and interface was accounted for during the hand-off. It is a fantastic feeling when the technical side actually works! I am not 100% sure which tool is currently the gold standard for the UK site, but I think I remember hearing that session stability can be a bit hit-or-miss. Someone told me that certain extensions can occasionally drop items if the regional settings arent perfect... so definitely double-check that total. I honestly found that being super careful with the link generation was the only way I could sleep at night. Love the project you are working on tho, it sounds like it is gonna be an incredible setup!
