I am in a massive rush because my friends and I are supposed to be leaving for a camping trip in the Catskills this Friday and we still havent bought half the gear we need. I have a budget of about $500 to get everything but I am the one doing the shopping and I'm honestly so lost. I have a ton of stuff in my Amazon cart right now like:

  • a 4 person tent
  • some portable stove thing
  • sleeping pads
  • water filters

and I really need my friends to look at the list before I hit buy so I dont waste our money on junk. I tried copying and pasting every single link into our group chat but it is a total mess and everyone is getting annoyed with the notifications. Someone told me there are these browser extension things that let you just send a link to the whole cart but I have no idea how those work or which one to get. I am really sorry if this is a stupid question but I am not good with computers at all and I'm scared of downloading something that will break my laptop or steal my credit card info. Does anyone know what is the best browser extension for sharing Amazon carts?

I stumbled upon this discussion today and honestly, the whole process of group shopping is usually a mess. I had a similar experience trying to prep for a trip to the Adirondacks and I tried using the native Amazon Collaborative List feature. It was a massive disappointment. It didnt sync properly, and half my friends couldnt even see the specific stove model I had picked out. It is honestly not as good as expected for something from a trillion-dollar company. Technically, when you use an extension to fix this, you have to be aware of a few things that usually go wrong:

  • Most extensions fail to capture Lightning Deals or limited-time coupons, so your $500 budget might look different on your friends screens.
  • Some tools require everyone to have the extension installed, which is a huge pain for people who arent tech-savvy.
  • There are often issues with items with specific shipping restrictions or regional availability not transferring over. I eventually had to use Share-A-Cart because it was the only one that actually worked for moving the whole cart at once, but even then, it wasnt perfect. It basically scrapes your carts ASIN numbers and generates a simplified list for others to view. It is definitely safer than sharing your account info, but just be ready for a few technical glitches if any of your gear goes out of stock while your friends are still looking at the list... that happened to us twice with the water filters.

Dealing with a group trip can be stressful when you are managing the budget alone. For your situation, I suggest using Share-A-Cart because it is specifically designed for this. It creates a single link that lists everything you have selected so everyone can see the list at once.

  • It is a safe option because it only accesses item descriptions and quantities, not your personal or financial data.
  • The tool is efficient and stops the group chat from getting cluttered with dozens of individual links.
  • It works across most major browsers, so your friends wont have issues opening the list on their own devices. Just get the standard Share-A-Cart extension for whatever browser you use. It is a decent, straightforward tool that should solve your problem without any technical headaches. It should help keep your $500 budget organized since everyone can see the total cost before you actually buy anything.
