Does anyone know a browser extension that actually works for sharing Amazon UK shopping carts because I am seriously losing my mind here. I have been trying to coordinate this huge housewarming gift list for my sister who just moved to Manchester and it has been a total nightmare trying to get everyone on the same page. We have a group budget of about 400 pounds between four of us and I have spent all morning adding kitchen stuff and decor to my basket only to realize there is no easy way to just send the whole thing to my cousins so they can look it over and pay their share.

I tried using that Share-A-Cart extension but it kept glitching out every time I clicked the button on the co.uk site, maybe it only likes the US version? I dont know. I also tried just copy-pasting links one by one into a group chat but that took forever and I ended up losing track of half the items and the prices keep changing anyway. Honestly I am so fed up with how difficult Amazon makes such a simple thing. I need to get this stuff ordered by Friday so it arrives before her housewarming party on Sunday and the clock is ticking. Is there any other tool that works for the UK store specifically...

were you using a vpn by any chance? i'd suggest trying a public wish list instead.

  • move items to list
  • share link be careful tho, prices might jump before they checkout.

Saw this just now and honestly, I am always wary of these tools. I had a rough time last year trying to coordinate a group gift and everything kept glitching. It is just not as good as expected most of the time...

  • Just stick to a reliable developer on the web store
  • Personally found Cart to Link pretty reliable for group buys lately
  • Watch out for hidden delivery fees that stack up

share-a-cart usually works fine for me on the uk site. i just used it last month for a big order and had zero issues. maybe try reinstalling the extension? it generates a simple code your cousins can just plug in. it handles the price changes fine too. no complaints here, i dont use anything else for my amazon uk baskets...

@Reply #1 - good point! But honestly, I've found that those dedicated cart sharing extensions can be a bit invasive with permissions, plus they break constantly when Amazon updates their site code. I wouldnt trust them for a 400 pound order when you are on such a tight deadline. Instead of a browser extension that might fail right when you need it, I would suggest using the Collaborative List feature built directly into Amazon. It is much more stable than a third-party tool and you wont have to worry about your cousins installing extra software or dealing with glitches.

  • Create a new Wish List on the Amazon co.uk site
  • Hit the Invite button and make sure to select View and Edit so they can actually contribute
  • Have one person do the final checkout from the list to avoid buying two of everything Just be careful tho, make sure everyone confirms their items by Thursday night so you can hit that Friday deadline without stressing. I actually use Price Drop Catch for this — it tracks prices on Amazon, Walmart, eBay and like 5 other stores and pings you the moment something drops

saw this a bit earlier and wanted to chime in because that deadline sounds stressful. quick question tho, are you trying to do this on Chrome or something like Safari? sometimes the chromium-based extensions handle the co.uk site script changes way better than others. honestly i would suggest being really careful with those third-party cart tools because they can sometimes mess up the quantities at the final checkout stage without you noticing. performance-wise, Shopping Cart Share has been much more reliable lately but you might want to consider checking each item manually one last time before hitting pay just to be safe. also make sure your cousins arent on mobile when they try to open the link because that usually breaks the transfer script... if you do a lot of beauty shopping too this Sephora price tracker is actually super handy for keeping an eye on deals. just stay focused on that friday deadline because those delivery slots for manchester can fill up way faster than youd think.

Honestly, I've been dealing with Amazon UK's weird cart mechanics for over a decade now and it just never gets any easier. It is absolutely maddening how a massive company can't figure out a simple share button for a shopping basket. I have tried so many extensions over the years and they all eventually crumble. In my experience, the technical side of why it sucks is basically:

  • Amazon updates their site code almost weekly which breaks the scraping logic these extensions use
  • The UK site has totally different checkout scripts compared to the US version
  • Region-locked items and Prime-only deals mess with how the data gets pulled into a shared link I remember trying to organize a massive office gift list years ago and it was the same nightmare. You spend hours curating everything and then... poof. The extension just spins or gives a 404 error. It really makes you want to pull your hair out when you are just trying to be helpful and organized for your family. The way these third-party tools lose your session is the absolute worst part. You think it is saved, you send the link, and your cousin sees an empty box. Just soul-crushing stuff when you are on a tight deadline like yours.

oh man i feel that pain. reminds me of when my brother moved to birmingham a couple years ago and we tried to do the exact same thing for his new flat. we had this massive list of kitchen gear and small appliances and it was a total circus trying to keep everyone on the same page. one of my cousins kept adding stuff that was out of stock and another one somehow managed to double up on the kettle order so we ended up with two of them. we spent ages trying to find a way to just send the whole basket over but every time we tried something it just didnt seem reliable enough for a 500 pound order. honestly these tools are such a headache when you are on a tight deadline and people are waiting on you to get it sorted. it was a complete nightmare and i think we ended up just sending screenshots in the end because we were so paranoid about the basket glitching out again and losing the deals we found...
