For ultimate drop protection, the OtterBox Defender Series XT for iPhone 17 is highly recommended.

However, while the Defender XT offers 5x military-standard durability, there are 2 other top-tested cases that provide excellent protection under $50, balancing cost with proven resilience.

Hello! Exciting times ahead for the iPhone 17! While specific cases aren't available yet, for under $50, look for brands like Spigen, Ringke, or ESR. Prioritize cases with reinforced corners, raised bezels, and MIL-STD drop protection once released. Always check user reviews closer to launch!

For future drop-proof cases under $50, prioritize MIL-STD certified options from brands like Spigen or Ringke, ensuring raised bezels and robust corner protection.

Tbh I’ve been looking at a ton of drop test videos lately cuz I’m terrified of breaking a new iPhone 17. I’m still learning about this stuff, but these brands seem to focus more on actual performance benchmarks than just hype. Here are a couple options I found that should be under $50: * Caudabe Sheath: Apparently their made from a special polymer that absorbs impact. Pros: really slim but rated for high drops. Cons: might be too simple if u like flashy stuff.
* RhinoShield SolidSuit: They claim it can handle huge drops, which is insane. Pros: super tough material that doesn't break. Cons: it’s really hard to get ur phone out once it’s in there.
* UAG Pathfinder Series: This one has a cool armor shell. Pros: great corner protection for real-world impacts. Cons: the industrial style is a bit much for some people. I wonder if there testing is actually legit or just marketing? Ngl, I just want something that works when I inevitably drop it on the sidewalk, right?

Hey! New phone hype! I'm kinda clumsy, so I get it. Over the years, I've found Spigen cases surprisingly good for the price. My iPhone 12's been saved countless times by their Rugged Armor. Not sure about the 17, but maybe check them out? Under $30 usually. Good luck!

Hey! For drop protection, consider materials. TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) absorbs impact better than hard plastic, in my experience. Otterbox makes decent ones, but check the TPU thickness; thicker is better. Also, a raised edge around the screen is key. Worth considering professional screen protection film too – adds another layer. I've tried many over the years; it's saved my phone!

Heard good things about the Otterbox Defender series for serious drops. Prioritize full enclosure; screen protectors alone don't always cut it. I'd say invest the $50 for peace of mind.

Hold up on the iPhone 17 case frenzy! Specs ain't even out yet. Seriously, a generic TPU case from Amazon for $10 will do fine until real drop tests surface. Don't blow your budget on hype. Once the phone's actually here, THEN research, but be careful with early reviews.
