Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, and I am absolutely stoked to get my hands on it. However, as much as I love the design of these new Pixels, I’m also low-key terrified of that first accidental scratch on the display. In my experience, these larger 'Pro' screens are like magnets for micro-abrasions, so I really want to have a high-quality screen protector ready to go the second I unbox it.
In the past, I’ve had a bit of a love-hate relationship with tempered glass. On my previous Pixel, I bought a random brand that completely messed up the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It was incredibly frustrating having to press down super hard or scan my thumb three times just to unlock the phone. I’m really hoping to avoid that headache this time around. Does anyone know if the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s sensor has any specific compatibility issues with thicker glass, or if there are brands that are already certified to work perfectly with it?

I’m also curious about the screen edges this year—if they are perfectly flat or have that slight 2.5D curve. I’m looking for something that maintains that beautiful OLED clarity without making the screen look grainy or 'oil-slicked.' I’m even open to high-quality TPU films if they feel smooth enough, though I prefer the impact protection of glass.

Late to the party but I've been through this sooo many times! I suggest comparing these: the amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass for Pixel 10 Pro XL is cheap and LITERALLY foolproof to install, vs the LK Flexible TPU Film for Pixel 10 Pro XL which is better for sensor speed and zero haloing. Honestly, both are AMAZING values that save you tons compared to big brands. GL!

Just catching up on this thread and wanted to jump in with a warning. The ultrasonic sensor in the 10 Pro XL is way more sensitive to glass thickness than the old optical ones. If the acoustic impedance of the adhesive is off, the sound waves just scatter and your fingerprint unlock wont work for squat. Basically, you need a high-quality bond with zero air gaps. You might want to consider these instead of the usual suspects:
- Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for Pixel 10 Pro XL
- Caseology Snap Fit Tempered Glass for Pixel 10 Pro XL Make sure to look for the Made for Google certification on the box. It actually means they tested it for the sensor frequency response. I would suggest checking out some of the deep-dive threads on XDA Developers where people actually measure the sensor delay with various brands... some of those guys are super thorough with the data. Just a heads up, always re-scan your prints after the install so the system can map the new density. It makes a huge difference, tbh.
