TL;DR: It is a total joke that we have to spend hundreds extra on gear for an already overpriced phone. Honestly it drives me crazy how Google and Samsung charge nearly two grand for a device then leave us hanging on the durability front. Before I give my two cents on what to actually buy tho... are you planning on being in super crowded spots like Shibuya Crossing mostly or more chill areas? Fragile means different things if you are getting bumped by a thousand people every few minutes versus just sitting in a quiet cafe.
