Just picked up the Pixel 10 Pro XL and realized my old bricks aren't cutting it. I’m looking for a plug that supports the full 45W charging speed and PPS protocol. Since it doesn’t come with one, should I stick with the official Google brick, or are there better third-party GaN chargers? Which specific models are you guys using for the fastest top-ups?

Honestly, i've been through this mess with the Pixel 9 and now the 10, and it's kinda frustrating how picky these phones are with PPS. I would suggest just sticking with the Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter if you want zero headaches. I've tried a few "fast" GaN chargers that claimed PPS support, but they ended up being so flaky... like, they'd drop the speed as soon as the phone got even slightly warm.

I actually had a bad experience with a cheaper third-party block that literally made my screen ghost-touch because of poor grounding. Not worth the risk on a $1k phone, right? If you absolutely gotta go third-party, I'm currently using the Anker 713 Charger Nano II 45W as a backup. It's tiny and works, but unfortunately, it still feels a bit slower than the official brick during that initial 0-50% burst. Basically, Google's power delivery profile is super specific, so unless the charger is 100% compliant with their PPS spec, you wont hit that full 45W top-up speed consistently. gl!

+1 to what was said earlier! Honestly, you dont need to pay the "Google tax" but definitely be CAREFUL with cheap no-name brands... they can literally fry your battery, right?

• Check out the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W GaN Wall Charger—it's usually around $25 and super reliable.
• Just make sure the cable is rated for high wattage too!!

I'm kinda new to this, but safety first, you know? gl! 👍

Quick question—are you mostly charging at home, or do you need something portable for travel? Honestly, the official Google plug is expensive, and you can definitely find better value. Like, I'm kinda budget-conscious, so I'd check out the UGREEN Nexode Pro 45W GaN Charger. It's usually cheaper and smaller. Just make sure whatever you pick is PPS compatible... otherwise, it won't hit those 45W speeds, lol.

Totally agree. But *be careful*: make sure any third-party plug has PPS 3.1 or it won't hit 45W. Honestly, generic bricks often skip this and charge sooo slow... basically a waste.

tbh im still kinda learning about pps but i love the idea of diy-ing my own charging kit instead of just going the 'professional' route with official gear. i mean why just use one port? i’ve been experimenting with the Baseus GaN6 Pro 65W Fast Charger and its been awesome because you can basically create your own little desktop hub for your phone and buds. it feels a lot more versatile than the standard google plug. i also checked out the SHARGE Flow 65W GaN Charger which is super tiny and looks really cool. the baseus is great for having more options while the sharge is amazing for saving space when youre on the move. i do wonder though... does using a 65w brick on a 45w phone actually make it hotter? im still learning how the phone handles that extra headroom lol. either way i think building your own setup is way more fun than just buying the basic one.
