Ive used OnePlus since the 3T and always go Sandstone but that massive camera island on the 13 is making me super nervous about drops.
Im heading to Colorado for a hiking trip next week and need something way more rugged than usual. What are the best protective cases for the OnePlus 13?
Re: "Just saw this thread and had to jump..."
I totally get being nervous about that huge lens, honestly it looks like a target for rocks. Since you are heading to the mountains, I would suggest looking at the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Spigen+Tough+Armor+for+ OnePlus+13+Black&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Tough Armor for OnePlus 13 Black because the shock-absorbing foam is legit. It adds some weight but that raised lip around the camera is what you really need. Just be careful with the kickstand, it feels a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the shell. You might also want to consider the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Poetic+Guardian+Case+for+ OnePlus+13+Heavy+Duty&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Guardian Case for OnePlus 13 Heavy Duty if you want full coverage. Its usually more cost-effective and comes with a built-in screen protector which is great for dusty trails. It feels like a tank, tho it can make the phone feel massive in your pocket. Make sure to clean the inside before you seal it up so you dont trap grit against the glass. Have a blast in Colorado!
Stumbled on this today. For hiking, you really want something with a honeycomb structure for impact dispersion. Be careful with thinner cases tho, that glass island is super fragile. I would suggest:
Just saw this thread and had to jump in! I totally agree with the previous post about impact dispersion, its all about the physics of the drop. I remember being out on a trail in Zion last year with a phone that had a similar glass island. I slipped on some loose shale and my device did a literal triple flip onto solid rock... honestly thought it was game over but the dual-layer tech saved me. I am absolutely obsessed with the technical specs of the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=TUDIA+DualShield+Grip+for+ OnePlus+13+Heavy+Duty+Dual+Layer+Case&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">TUDIA DualShield Grip for OnePlus 13 Heavy Duty Dual Layer Case. They use this ToughRhino technology which is basically a high-density TPU inner layer paired with a hard polycarbonate outer shell. The raised lip height is exactly what you need for that massive camera module protection. Its super affordable too, usually under 20 bucks which is amazing for this level of quality! If you want something that feels a bit more tactical for your Colorado trip, I love the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Ringke+Fusion-X+for+ OnePlus+13+Space+Blue+Rugged+Bumper&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Fusion-X for OnePlus 13 Space Blue Rugged Bumper. It has these amazing reinforced corner bumpers that meet MIL-STD 810G-516.6 drop test standards. The grip on the sides is fantastic for sweaty hiking hands, plus it actually has lanyard holes so you can tether it to your gear. Nothing beats a physical backup when you are taking photos on a cliff edge! You gotta look at the sheer data on those bumper impacts, it is seriously impressive.
