Finally moving on from my trusty (but dying) Galaxy S20. The battery life on that thing has become a total joke lately—barely getting 3 hours of SOT—and it gets way too hot even when I'm just scrolling. So, I just pulled the trigger on the S24 FE. I'm stoked for the bigger screen and the better camera, but I realized I’m totally behind on the whole 'no charger in the box' era. It's kind of annoying to spend this much and not get a brick.
I've been doing some digging into what actually works best for the FE. I know it supports 25W wired charging, but the options are a bit overwhelming. I looked at the Anker Nano series and some Baseus stuff, but I'm seeing conflicting info about PPS (Programmable Power Supply) support. Apparently, if the brick doesn't have the specific PPS profile Samsung uses, it won't trigger the 'Super Fast Charging' status on the S24 FE? I don't want to buy a 45W brick if the FE can't even use it, but I also don't want to be stuck with 'slow' fast charging because I picked the wrong brand.
Requirements for the gear:
- Charger needs to be compact (I travel a lot for work).
- Earbuds must stay put—I run a lot, and the old wired AKGs I used on my S20 were great, but obviously not an option now.
- Budget is around $150-180 for both the charger and buds.
- Good ANC for the buds because my office is noisy as hell.
I was considering the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro since they're often on sale now, but I saw some reviews saying the fit is hit-or-miss compared to the FE buds. Also, does the S24 FE support that new Samsung Seamless Codec, or is that just for the flagship Ultra models? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth spending more on the Buds 3 or if I'm just paying for a stem design I don't even like.
Oh, I forgot to mention—I'm also looking for a cable that won't fray in two weeks. The one in the box feels kinda flimsy. Should I just stick to the official Samsung 25W wall plug to be safe, or is there a better third-party combo that handles the PPS stuff more reliably for the FE?

Agree PPS is a total headache ngl. Ive tried dozens and most are just overpriced trash tbh...

Look, stop overthinking the voltage. You need PPS or youre wasting time. Listen, get the Spigen ArcStation Pro 27W GaN because it fits the spec and wont overheat. For running, the Beats Fit Pro are the only ones that wont fall out when youre sweating. Tbh they STAY PUT. Grab a Ugreen 100W USB C Cable Braided because its TOUGH and wont fray like that factory junk...

Moving from an S20 is a big jump—I remember when mine started acting up, and you really have to be careful with those older batteries once they start swelling or getting hot like you described, so getting that new S24 FE was a smart move for safety alone. Now, about the charging situation, you’re right to be cautious about the PPS thing because Samsung is very particular—if the handshake between the brick and the phone isn't exactly right, it just won't trigger that Super Fast Charging. I’d personally stick to the official Samsung 25W USB-C Wall Charger just to be safe, though I know you wanted compact, so maybe look at the Anker 511 Nano 3 30W but—wait, no—I mean the 711 is the one I was thinking of, but just make sure you double-check the fine print for the specific PPS voltage ranges before you commit. A few things I'd look at:
- I’d highly suggest the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE over the Pros for your running because those little wingtips are a lifesaver—nothing worse than a bud falling out near a storm drain—and the ANC is surprisingly decent for the office.
- The S24 FE does support the Seamless Codec, so you aren't losing out on audio quality, though I'd recommend checking the settings menu once you pair them if you're not sure it's active.
- For the cable, maybe look at a Anker PowerLine III Flow USB-C to USB-C because the silicone is thick and handles the heat better than the thin ones they give you now. Just make sure you buy from a reputable store—there are so many fakes of the Samsung bricks online that look identical but don't have the proper safety shut-offs. It's better to spend an extra few dollars than risk a short circuit in a hotel room while you're traveling.

So we need PPS and stable running buds—tbh the Anker 312 Charger 25W is way smaller than the official brick—wait, I mean it's actually pocketable—while the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 lowkey beat the older models on ANC and codec support. Stems are actually pretty stable for running, plus they're great for noisy offices. Definitely grab an Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable since the stock one is flimsy.
