What's the best fast charger for the Galaxy S26 Ultra if I want the absolute max speeds? I'm finally moving up from an S21 Ultra. The main reason is my current battery is shot and takes way too long to charge. I need the S26's camera and battery life for work, so I'm trying to get the power situation sorted before it arrives. My budget is around $60 for a brick and a decent cable.

I've done some research but the technical specs are confusing. I saw that the official Samsung 45W brick is the standard, but then I read that some Anker GaN chargers are actually more efficient and run cooler. Some users say you specifically need a charger with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) support to hit 'Super Fast Charging 2.0,' while others say any high-wattage PD charger works. I don't want to buy a 65W block if the phone just throttles it down to 25W anyway. Also, do I need a special 5A cable to make this work or is the one in the box enough? I want something that actually hits the advertised speeds without overheating. Which specific models are you guys using that actually trigger the fastest charging mode?

So funny you ask this — last summer I was stressing over this exact thing when I realized my old bricks were basically paperweights for the newer tech. I almost spent a fortune at a retail store because I was worried about the "PPS" thing — it stands for Programmable Power Supply, I think? — but you can actually get the full 45W speeds for way less. You definitely need a 5A cable though, because the standard ones often won't trigger the "Super Fast Charging 2.0" mode. Here is how I stayed under budget:

  • Anker 313 Charger Ace 45W — super compact and usually way cheaper than the official Samsung one.
  • Anker 333 USB-C to USB-C Cable 5A 100W — this handles the high current perfectly. Just make sure the brick specifically supports PPS on the spec sheet. Don't bother with the fancy 100W laptop chargers unless you need them for other gear, since the phone won't use that extra power anyway.
