Are Sephora Collection products good dupes for expensive brands?

So Ive been a VIB Rouge member at Sephora for basically forever and I usually dont even look at the house brand stuff because Im such a sucker for the high-end packaging and the prestige of brands like Natasha Denona or Charlotte Tilbury. Ive always felt like you get what you pay for especially with things like foundation oxidation and eyeshadow fallout and Ive been doing full-face glam for years now. But honestly my budget for my brothers wedding in October is getting a bit tight and I decided to grab a few Sephora Collection things on a whim last week... mostly just to hit the free shipping limit haha. I tried their Best Skin Ever foundation and their cream lip stains and oh my god? I was actually shocked at the coverage and the finish. It didnt settle into my fine lines at all which even my $60 foundations do sometimes and the pigment was so rich. Now Im wondering if Ive been wasting literally hundreds of dollars a year on the prestige labels when the black and white tubes might be just as good. Are there specific products from their line that are actually confirmed dupes for like the high-end luxury stuff? Like is the microsmooth powder really a duge for MAC or Hourglass? I keep hearing that but Im still a little skeptical if the formula holds up for an 8 hour day...

the microsmooth powder is definitely a dupe for mac mineralize skinfinish. i've used both and honestly cant tell the difference once it's on. their 12h colorful contour liners are also incredible and stay put for an 8 hour day easily. i usually check this Sephora price tracker to grab them during the big sales. no complaints from me, it works well.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Microsmooth is solid since it skips heavy bismuth oxychloride. Just be careful:

  • Skip their waterproof mascaras
  • Watch for batch variances High-end labels usually use more refined silicones tho.
