I'm losing my mind trying to coordinate this huge order for our youth center event in Seattle and Amazon is making it so difficult. My logic was that there'd be an easy way to just send the whole cart to my supervisor for approval without giving him my login info but nope. I tried some random extension but it kept crashing and now I'm just anxious because we need these supplies by Friday or the whole thing is ruined. Honestly so fed up with how hard they make it to just share a list of items. Is there anything reliable that actually works and doesn't feel like a scam? I just need to send the cart contents so he can pay on the company card...

I've been doing event planning for community groups for over a decade now and man, I have been exactly where you are more times than I can count. Last summer I was putting together a massive back-to-school drive and the sheer volume of items was staggering. I tried the manual copy-paste method at first, but it was a nightmare and I ended up missing half the stuff. After years of trial and error with different browser extensions that usually ended up being bloatware or just plain broken, I finally stumbled on a solution that actually stuck. In my experience, you really just want to go with Share-A-Cart. It has saved me so much grief over the years. I dont even bother looking at other options anymore because most of them are just trying to harvest your data or they crash the second you have more than ten items in the bag. Using a dedicated cart sharing tool is the way to go because it handles the heavy lifting without needing passwords. It's a huge time saver when you consider the cost of your own sanity lol. Just get the basic version of that extension and youll be fine for what you need. Its super straightforward and doesnt require any weird setup. Honestly, for the youth center event, staying organized is half the battle anyway... just make sure your supervisor has the same extension installed on their end too and it should be smooth sailing.

Ugh, I totally feel your pain. I spent three hours last month trying to do the exact same thing for a non-profit fundraiser and it was a total disaster. Honestly, Amazons lack of a share cart button is just ridiculous in 2024. I tried a few of those sketchy extensions too and they either didnt load the right quantities or just flat out crashed my browser. Super frustrating when youre on a deadline. Unfortunately, most business features they offer require a specific paid account which we didnt have. I finally settled on using Share-A-Cart. Its a simple browser extension that lets you generate a short code. You send that code to your boss, he puts it into the site on his end, and everything pops into his cart instantly. It is not perfect but it is way better than manual lists or sharing passwords. Hopefully that saves your Friday event because I know how stressful that pressure is.

> Honestly so fed up with how hard they make it to just share a list of items. I just need to send the cart contents so he can pay on the company card... Just saw this today and figured I'd chime in with the technical side of why this is such a headache. Amazon basically treats cart data as volatile session information linked strictly to your encrypted cookies. Since they dont offer a public API for cart sharing, most tools have to scrape the DOM, which is why those random extensions crash whenever Amazon updates their site layout. For a reliable workflow, I recommend these steps:

  • Use the Share-A-Cart extension. It functions by indexing the ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) and quantities currently in your browser session. It then generates a unique ID that the recipient can use to rebuild that exact manifest in their own browser.
  • Alternatively, use the native Wish List function. Select all items in your cart and move them to a new list. Set the list to Shared or Public, then send the URL. Your supervisor can use the Add all to cart button on that page. It avoids third-party scripts entirely, which is safer for company card transactions. If the extension keeps crashing, its likely a conflict with your cache. Clear your site data for Amazon and try again. It should handle a large youth center order fine as long as the items are all in stock. for anyone shopping with friends or doing a gift list, Cart to Link is worth trying
