Which browser extension tracks discounts on printer ink?

Does anyone know a specific browser extension that actually tracks discounts on printer ink? I'm printing a massive stack of photos for my sisters wedding album this month and my HP OfficeJet is literally draining my bank account. I tried Honey and Rakuten but they usually just give me dead codes that dont apply to ink cartridges or only work on the printers themselves which is useless for me right now. I saw some people mention Capital One Shopping but I'm kinda hesitant about the privacy stuff there and linking my data. Is there anything that works better for third-party sites like LD Products or just general ink price tracking? I need to buy a few XL black cartridges by next Tuesday and really dont want to pay full price...

Oh man, I was just looking at ink prices yesterday! Your wedding album project sounds totally amazing, bet those photos are gonna look fantastic once they are all done!! Before I give you my full list of tricks, are you specifically hunting for the official HP cartridges or are you open to using those high-quality third-party ones? It makes a huge difference for which trackers actually work best. I basically live on PriceDropCatch lately and I love it! Its been a lifesaver for my home office stuff.

  • Set up a price alert for the exact XL model number
  • Check the historical price charts so you know if the sale is actually a deal I grabbed my last black ink refill for almost 30% off using their alerts which was incredible!! Let me know about the OEM vs generic thing tho, definitely want to help you save some cash for that wedding!

Man, I feel your pain so much. I tried doing a similar project for my parents 30th anniversary last year and the cost of ink almost ruined the whole surprise. I went through three different extensions thinking I was being smart, but honestly, it was a huge waste of time. Honey just kept spinning and then told me no codes found or gave me stuff for 10% off an actual printer which... thanks for nothing, right? I had issues with almost every popular tool because they just dont seem to scrape the niche ink sites properly. Unfortunately, the tech behind these extensions is usually built for fashion or big box electronics, and printer supplies are just too boring for them to keep updated. Here is what I found actually helps when you are in a pinch:

  • CamelCamelCamel: If you buy on Amazon, set a price alert for the specific XL cartridge. It wont find a coupon, but it catches those random 12-hour price drops.
  • LD Products: Seriously, skip the HP official stuff if you can. I switched to their generic line and the quality was basically the same but for half the price.
  • Manual Newsletters: The best way to get a real discount is just signing up for the store email list. They send 15-20% off codes every Tuesday usually. It sucks that there isnt a magic button extension for this stuff yet. I ended up just bookmarking three different sites and checking them manually every morning while drinking my coffee. It is tedious but it saved me like 40 bucks on my last batch of black ink. Good luck with the wedding album, hope it turns out great despite the costs...
