im panicking a bit because I need to get this expensive baby monitor for my sisters shower in two weeks and the price is literally jumping up and down every day like crazy. i was looking at keepa since it has those detailed charts but then i saw some people say you have to pay for the best data now so i got nervous.
my logic was that maybe camelcamelcamel is better since its been around forever but the interface looks kinda clunky and idk if the extension works as well as the website. honestly i just need something 100% free that wont slow down my chrome. which one actually pings you faster when the price drops... keepa or camel? or is there something else i missed?
Building on the earlier suggestion, Ive been super happy with Keepas free tier tbh. I used it to snag a deal on a baby monitor last month and the data was spot on even without paying. Quick question tho, are you mainly just looking for price alerts or do you need the full sales rank history too? If its just alerts, check out Honey... it has a Droplist feature that pings you and its totally free.
Late to the party but wanted to jump in. To add to the point above: Keepa is definitely the king of data. It is a bit much to look at though. If you want something that does the work for you without looking like a NASA dashboard, you gotta be strategic. In my experience, here is how to handle a tight 2-week window:
I spent months logging data points for a specific monitor last year and compared these two side-by-side; Keepa is basically the best technical choice if you need speed. Its ping time is usually sub-five minutes from the scrape, whereas CCC can take way longer because their server load management feels a bit dated. If youre on a tight two-week deadline, that speed matters most. CCC is a decent option if you want a cleaner interface, but Keepa provides more granular control. The free version of Keepa still shows the basic price history graph perfectly... you just lose some deep meta-data like sales rank which isnt vital for your situation. Quick tip: Toggle the Amazon and New filters separately on the graph. Sometimes Amazon matches a price but doesnt win the buy box, so the alert wont trigger if you only track one metric.
