Ive been shopping at Kohls for a decade and usually just wait for the 30 percent coupons but I'm in a bind. My brothers wedding is this Saturday and my only blazer is trashed so I need a new one fast.

I went in today but the prices were all over the place and I couldn't get my rewards to stack right. I always thought Sundays were the big markdowns for the new ad cycle but a clerk mentioned they do the best clearance drops mid week now? I only have a hundred bucks and really need the lowest price before Friday morning. Which day is actually the best for the gold star markdowns lately?

I would suggest heading in early Wednesday morning for those gold star markdowns. Thats usually the safest bet for new clearance drops, but you gotta be careful since inventory is always a gamble.

  • Do you need a specific fit like slim or classic?
  • Are you trying to stack a generic coupon with the clearance price?

Catching this a bit late but hope you havent headed out yet. ^ This is a solid start, but ngl, people sleep on the Friday morning system refresh. From what I have seen looking at the inventory data patterns, while the physical tags often get flipped mid-week, the back-end system usually does a secondary verification on Friday at around 3 AM to clear space for the weekend crowd. I had to grab a blazer for a funeral last year and got kinda obsessed with the logistics of it. I tracked the price for weeks and noticed the biggest drops on mens tailoring actually hit the system late Thursday night. I ended up getting a decent jacket for like twenty-five bucks because the gold star status shifted right as the store opened Friday morning. It is definitely worth checking this Kohl's price tracker to see if the SKU you are looking at is actually trending down or if it is just a fake sale that is really just a price reset. Just a practical tip, look at the actual cents on the digital tag if you can. If it ends in .97 or .99 it is usually just standard clearance, but specific whole-number endings in the system logs often indicate a final markdown stage. If you only have a hundred bucks, you gotta factor in the local tax too since that eats a budget fast. Hope the wedding goes well and you find a fit that works.

I'd actually aim for Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. I would suggest looking at the digital price tags for a tiny square in the top corner... that usually signals the rock-bottom price. Be careful though, blazer sizes are a total gamble mid-week. I've been using PriceDropCatch to track these shifts and it's super helpful. Just make sure you check the clearance racks first.
