okay so im finally upgrading from my crusty old iphone 11 that ive dropped like literally a thousand times and the screen is basically holding on by tape and a dream at this point lol. im super hyped to get the new iphone 17e since the battery life and that upgraded camera setup sound amazing compared to what im used to, plus the size seems like it wont feel like a literal brick in my pocket. but honestly im having a mini panic attack trying to find a case for it cus im so clumsy. I been doing some research online and browsing reddit threads where people kept hyping up OtterBox Defender series and also those minimalist Spigen cases, but then other users were saying the OtterBox is way too bulky and makes the phone feel like a thick paperback book while the Spigen ones might not survive a concrete parking lot faceplant. Im kinda stuck because I need something that can actually handle my butterfingers without making the phone massive, but every review I read contradicts the last one. What are the best rugged cases for iphone 17e that actually protect the thing without turning it into a tank?
Just catching up on this thread — I dropped my OtterBox Defender iPhone 17e off a balcony and it survived, but it's massive. Meanwhile, the Spigen Tough Armor iPhone 17e is slimmer yet still saved my phone on concrete.
^ This. Also, grab the UAG Metropolis SE iPhone 17e. Saved me a ton on repairs, cost like $40 for 3 years of drops, total no brainer over dealer prices.
Moving up from an iPhone 11 is a big change, so just make sure you protect the glass properly from day one. Before deciding on a case, what's your budget for accessories? Also, do you usually carry your phone in a bag or your pocket?
