So which wireless charger are you guys actually using for the Pixel 10 Pro because I am losing my mind trying to find one that doesnt take eight hours to reach a full charge. I just upgraded and my old IKEA charging pad is basically a paperweight now since it barely even registers that the phone is there and when it does it says "charging slowly" which is the most annoying notification on the planet.
I am currently torn between just biting the bullet and getting the official Google Pixel Stand 2nd Gen or going with the Spigen ArcField because its way cheaper. But then I saw some people talking about the iOttie Ion Wireless Duo and now I am just confused. My budget is around 60 bucks ideally because I already spent a fortune on the phone itself but I can go a bit higher if it actually works. Space is a huge issue for me though. I have this tiny IKEA nightstand in my bedroom here in Chicago and I really dont have room for a massive base.
The official Google one looks chunky and I am worried about the fan noise too. Like is it actually loud? I sleep with a white noise machine but I dont want a high pitched whine right next to my ear all night. On the other hand if I buy the Spigen or a generic Anker pad am I gonna be stuck with 5W charging forever? It feels like Google locks the best speeds behind their own hardware which is so frustrating. I need to figure this out by Wednesday before I head out for a wedding because I really want to just drop my phone down and sleep without fumbling for a USB-C cable in the dark. Is the Pixel Stand worth the premium or is there some other brand that actually hits those high speeds without the crazy price tag?
Re: "TL;DR: Focus on thermal management to maintain consistent..."
OMG you definitely gotta just get the Google Pixel Stand 2nd Gen 23W Wireless! I know it is pricey, but nothing else actually hits those top speeds.
I have been through this nightmare with basically every Pixel launch. Be careful with the cheaper generic stuff because Google is super picky about EPP (Extended Power Profile) certification. If the charger doesnt have it, you are stuck in slow-charging hell forever. Since you have zero space on that nightstand, I would suggest looking at the Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Pad Qi2 15W. It is tiny but supports the newer Qi2 standards which helps a ton with heat and alignment issues. Make sure to check your wall adapter too. If you arent using something like an Anker 711 Charger Nano II 30W USB-C, the pad wont even get enough juice to fast charge the phone properly. I personally avoid stands for sleeping because of that fan whine you mentioned... it can be super annoying. A flat pad like the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 15W Wireless Charging Pad with Qi2 is totally silent and wont take up your whole desk area. Honestly, it is a safer bet for a light sleeper.
TL;DR: Focus on thermal management to maintain consistent speeds. I am very satisfied with my current setup after a lot of trial and error, tbh. My previous cheap pad caused the phone to get too hot, which triggered a charging slowdown. Once I invested in a higher-quality unit that handles heat better, it finally worked properly. Before you buy anything, what kind of case are you using? Some materials block the coils more than others.
Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
