Which car mounts work best with the Motorola Edge (2024)?

Hey everyone! I just recently treated myself to the new Motorola Edge (2024), and honestly, I’m really impressed with how snappy it is and how great that pOLED display looks. However, I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock now that I’m trying to set up my car for my daily commute.

My old universal vent mount, which served me well for years with my previous device, just isn't cutting it with this phone. Because the Edge (2024) has such a slim profile and very specific button placement on the right side, the grips on my current mount keep squeezing the power button or accidentally cranking the volume every time I hit a slight bump. It’s incredibly frustrating to have the 'Power Off' menu pop up right in the middle of a turn while I'm trying to follow Google Maps!

I’m looking for something that is sturdy enough to hold a taller phone without it wobbling or feeling top-heavy. I currently have a thin liquid silicone case on it, so it's not super bulky, but I definitely need a mount that won't interfere with the edges of the screen. I've been looking at some of those magnetic mounts, but I’m a bit worried about whether they’ll play nice with the internal hardware since the Edge (2024) supports 15W wireless charging. Has anyone tried using a MagSafe-style ring adapter on the back of this phone, or should I just stick to a traditional gravity-fed or motorized clamping mount?

I'd prefer to keep the budget under $40 if possible, but I'm willing to spend a bit more for something that actually stays put on a textured dashboard. I've had bad luck with suction cups losing their stickiness in the summer heat before, so if there’s a legendary vent mount or even a CD slot mount that you guys swear by for this specific Motorola model, I’m all ears.

Does anyone have a specific brand or model of car mount that they’ve found works perfectly with the Motorola Edge (2024) without blocking the side buttons or obscuring the charging port?

yo, congrats on the new phone! Honestly, the Edge (2024) is such a sleeper hit this year, but I totally feel u on the mount struggle. The problem is basically that Motorola put the volume and power keys right where most "universal" grips want to squeeze. Plus, with that curved pOLED display, u really dont want a bulky mount eating into your screen real estate or messing with the edges. Since u mentioned being worried about magnets and wireless charging, here's the deal: magnets wont hurt the internal hardware, but if u use a standard metal plate, it WILL block the 15W wireless charging. The pro move is to get a MagSafe-style ring adapter. If u center it perfectly around the internal coil, u can use magnetic mounts AND still charge wirelessly. I've been using the LISEN Magnetic Phone Holder for Car Vent which is usually around $18. It uses a metal hook mechanism for the vent so it actually STAYS put, unlike those cheap clips that slide off when the plastic gets soft in the summer heat. It's lowkey the best way to keep the sides of the phone completely free. If ur not feeling the magnetic route, u gotta go with a gravity-fed mount or one with adjustable feet. I highly recommend the Vicseed Universal Car Phone Mount for CD Slot if u still have a CD player. It's SO much more stable than a dash mount. Another solid choice under $40 is the iOttie Easy One Touch 6 Air Vent Mount. It has adjustable "feet" at the bottom that u can slide down, which offsets the phone vertically so the side grips miss the power button entirely. Anyway, hope that helps u out! It's such a bummer when a new phone feels like a chore to use in the car. gl! 👍

Curious about one thing: are you planning to use wireless charging while driving?? Alignment is key for 15W. Before I give advice, clarify your dash type! * **Magnetic**: Fast, but check coil alignment.
* **Gravity**: Easy, but might rattle.
* **CD Slot**: Sturdy, but blocks screens. Best choice is usually Lamicall Car Vent Phone Mount or DesertWest CD Slot Car Mount. I would suggest the CD mount; it's usually the sturdiest long-term! lol
