Ive been using OnePlus for years but I just upgraded to the 13 and Im struggling to find a car charger—well, a high speed one—that hits the 100W SuperVOOC spec. I spend like two hours a day in my 2022 Ford F-150—got 45k miles mostly highway—and my old brick barely moves the needle while Im using GPS so I was thinking maybe I need the official one but theyre kinda pricey tbh and I dont really want to spend over $40. My logic was any high-watt PPS charger would work but apparently the 13 is super picky... does anyone know a specific brand that actually triggers the fast charging in a vehicle?
Ngl I saw on Reddit — wait, maybe YouTube — that SuperVOOC is lowkey picky so:
Standard PPS chargers won't hit 100W. You need the proprietary SuperVOOC chip.
To add to the point above: SuperVOOC protocol is the issue. So funny you ask this—last month I tried a standard PPS charger in my truck while running Maps and the battery stayed flat. IIRC, OnePlus requires a proprietary handshake. Are you using the original red cable? I think the cable is required to trigger the high-speed charging correctly.
