so im finally moving on from my ancient op8 its basically dead at this point i mean the battery is shot and it takes forever to charge. i was looking at the new 15 and im kinda stuck on the charger situation because i read online that standard power delivery works but then some reddit post said you need the specific supervooc brick to actually get the fast speeds... my logic was that any 100w brick would do the trick but now im worried im gonna spend money on an anker or something and itll just trickle charge. i really need it to be fast bc i use my phone for work all day and i cant be tethered to a wall so which ones actually work at full speed or am i just stuck buying the official one?

Look, I’ve been through three of these OnePlus upgrades now—started back with the 7 Pro—and the charging is always a bit of a "gotcha" (proprietary tech, you know). You’d think a Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W would cut it, but—wait, no—I mean it works, but you'll just get standard speeds. I tried third-party bricks years ago and it was garbage; you really need the official OnePlus 100W SUPERVOOC Power Adapter for the full speed.

You see people grabbing an Anker 747 Charger GaNPrime 150W thinking it’s the top-shelf choice, but—wait, no—that’s for standard Power Delivery, not the SuperVOOC protocol. These phones need that high-amperage handshake or the controller won't let the gate open, so to speak. You gotta get the OnePlus 100W SUPERVOOC Power Adapter and—this is important—you need the official OnePlus SUPERVOOC Type-A to Type-C Cable too. If you swap that red cable for a generic one, the whole thing drops to a crawl. Use the OEM parts or stay tethered to the wall. Done.

Lowkey just grab the OnePlus 100W SUPERVOOC Power Adapter because other bricks—wait, no—I mean they won't hit those insane peak speeds, ngl it's a total vibe killer, tbh.
