I just got this new Samsung Galaxy S26 for my birthday and its my first nice phone ever honestly im so scared of scratching it because I drop things all the time. I looked on Amazon and there are like a million different ones and I dont even know what the difference between glass and film is... one of them said something about UV light which sounds super complicated and scary lol.

My budget is like 20 bucks max and I need something that wont be too hard for me to put on without bubbles because I have zero experience with this. Which ones are actually good for this phone? Is there a brand that is simple for a beginner like me to use...

Yo, congrats on the S26! Its a killer phone so I totally get being paranoid about scratches. For a beginner, definitely stick to tempered glass. Film is just a thin plastic layer that feels kinda rubbery and cheap, while glass actually protects against cracks if you drop it. Stay away from those UV light kits for now, they are super messy and way over your budget anyway. If you want an easy install without bubbles, you gotta get one with an alignment frame. Here are a couple I would suggest looking at:

Just saw this. @Reply #1 - good point! Glass feels way better than film. Unfortunately I tried a generic multipack last month and it was a total waste of money. Bubbles everywhere and the edges peeled in two days... total headache. To stay under $20, check these:

Like someone mentioned, glass feels way safer for us clumsy people. Im also a beginner and heard that some really cheap ones might mess with the fingerprint scanner tho? Not 100% sure but IIRC people complained about that... A few tips:

  • Put it on in a steamy bathroom to keep dust away
  • Use the sticky dust removers everywhere first
  • Tiny bubbles usually disappear after 24 hours anyway
