Im trying to pick up a new laptop for my daughter before she heads off to state in three weeks and my budget is strictly under 600 bucks. I spent all morning looking at the HP Pavilions and it seems like Best Buy has them for 549 right now on sale. But then I saw a couple threads saying Office Depot does these crazy unadvertised in-store clearance markdowns that blow Best Buy out of the water. I checked the OD website and the prices actually look a little higher than BB though so I'm confused if those clearance deals are actually common or just a myth. Is it worth driving across town to the Office Depot or should I just stick with the Best Buy deal?
Honestly, I'd stick with the Best Buy deal. Those Office Depot clearance things are a total gamble and might just be beat up floor models. With your daughter leaving so soon, you need something reliable like that HP Pavilion... just check the warranty first tho. TL;DR: Stick with Best Buy for the reliability. I found PriceDropCatch a few months back and now I don't buy anything from Office Depot without checking the tracker first.
