So I've been using CamelCamelCamel and Keepa for like, forever, basically since I started building my own rigs back in the day. But lately I'm getting really weird about how many accounts I have linked to my email and I'm trying to de-clutter my digital life. I've got this plan to pick up a new ultrawide monitor for my desk setup here in London—specifically looking at the Odyssey G9 series—but the prices are all over the place. I want to catch it when it drops below 900 pounds but I really, really don't want to create yet another login or sign up for a newsletter just to get a price alert.
I've noticed some of the usual tools are pushing the account creation thing pretty hard now and it's honestly annoying. Is there a way to do this purely client-side or through a site that doesn't demand a sign-up? I'm pretty tech savvy so I don't mind a bit of setup, but I'm hitting a wall finding something that isn't data-hungry.
Here is what I am looking for:
I've tried just leaving tabs open and refreshing but honestly that is a nightmare and I'm definitely gonna miss the sale window if I do that. Any of you lot found a workaround that doesn't involve giving away more personal data...
Man, I totally get the account fatigue! It is seriously frustrating how every single tool wants your life story just to track a price. For your Odyssey G9 hunt in the UK, you definitely have some high-quality options that respect your privacy and dont require a login. Ive been using Price Drop Catch for a few months now, and it is absolutely fantastic because it works exactly how you want. It is free and doesnt need an account which is the main reason I stuck with it! You just paste the link and it handles the rest without needing an email or any annoying sign-up process. Here is how I usually handle this without the data-hungry bloat:
Just found this thread. Are you running a 24/7 server? I would suggest comparing Distill (local storage) and self-hosted scripts (maximum privacy)... just be careful with IP blocks. Which G9 model exactly?
Switched to local tools years ago and honestly im so happy with the privacy tho.
