Im super hyped planning a huge party with my London flatmates for next weekend! So I was thinking we could just share an Amazon UK cart. I found Share-A-Cart, but people online say it glitches on the co.uk site and swaps everything to USD. My logic was there MUST be a UK version... is there one that actually works?

Before recommending specific tools, could you clarify whether you plan on having one person pay for the whole order and split the cost later, or if everyone needs to check out their own items individually? It would also help to know if your flatmates are mostly on desktop or mobile, as extension support varies quite a bit between platforms. If you do decide to use third-party cart extensions on Amazon UK, I would suggest keeping a few technical and cost warnings in mind:

  • Be careful with browser extensions requesting permissions to read all site data, as poorly coded ones can expose session tokens or shipping addresses.
  • Watch out for currency glitches closely. If an extension accidentally redirects through the US routing layer, Amazon might trigger Dynamic Currency Conversion, which adds a sneaky 3% to 5% foreign transaction markup on your UK card.
  • Make sure to check if the extension bypasses Prime shipping benefits. Some cart-sharing tools strip out local delivery perks during the session transfer. From a practical standpoint, you might want to consider using a native Amazon UK Collaborative List as a safer fallback. It lets everyone add party items to a shared pool in real time without granting any third-party app access to your account. Let me know your exact setup and I can give you a better breakdown.

Just catching up on this thread! Had the exact same setup last month for a flatmate party. We just used an Amazon shared Wishlist combined with Prime to cut shipping costs, and honestly it works really well with no complaints at all. Here are a few practical tips:

  • Create a shared Wishlist with collaboration turned on
  • Have everyone add items directly so currency stays in GBP
  • Buy together to hit free delivery thresholds Let me know if you need help with it!

OMG yes I completely agree with you, trying to coordinate party buys without a shared cart is a total nightmare! Planning flatmate parties is literally the most amazing feeling ever tho, you guys are gonna have the absolute best time next weekend! I had this exact same issue a few months ago when planning a huge bash with my flatmates in London! People online complain about the currency flip, but I used Share-A-Cart on amazon.co.uk literally last week and it worked fantastic once I tweaked one quick thing. Here is what worked for us:

  • Make sure both you and your flatmates set the extension region to UK explicitly in the extension options before making the code
  • Send the generated cart code directly over WhatsApp instead of using the raw link, it loads way faster
  • Always do a quick visual check on the final basket before checking out just to be 100% sure nothing got dropped Honestly I love it so much now for all our group flat orders, it saves endless back-and-forth link dumping! Let me know if you need any help setting it up, happy to walk you through it so you guys can get back to party planning!
