Is there any tool or browser extension that actually tracks past prices specifically for OfficeDepot.com?

I am setting up a small home office space next month and need to buy a printer and desk chair with a strict $500 budget. Office Depot has this chair listed for $180 "on sale" right now down from $300, but I swear it is always listed like that. I tried using Honey's price drop feature, but it barely has any history for this item, and Camel Camel Camel obviously only works for Amazon. I even checked Wayback Machine but navigating it for specific product pages is a pain and half the images dont load. Are there any dedicated trackers that cover Office Depot reliably?

In my experience tracking retail prices over the years, Office Depot is notorious for perpetual sale pricing where the discounted rate is actually just the normal price. Standard tools like Honey often fail on their domain. I have tested multiple tools for this specific use case. Capital One Shopping offers the most reliable price history tracking for Office Depot. In my testing, its browser extension pulls up a clean 60-day price trend chart right on the product page. The downside is it requires an account to view full data. Glass It is another solid web-based tracker. The main pro is that it lets you paste any specific Office Depot URL to start monitoring. However, the con is that historical data only starts from when a user first added that link to their database. For an instant check without installing anything, I usually rely on Google Shopping. Searching the exact chair model there typically reveals the average market price across different retailers over the past few months.

Just catching up on this thread. Quick question before diving deeper: what specific chair model are you looking at? If it is a white-label or rebranded OEM model, that changes how we can track it. Office Depot pricing is annoying because their system periodically updates SKU numbers for promo bundles, which breaks historical data for extension APIs like Honey. Here are a couple alternative workarounds:

  • Glass It: A browser extension where you manually select the HTML price container. It snapshots the visual element on OD's site directly so API or SKU changes dont mess up tracking.
  • Google Shopping price history: OD lists major inventory on Google Shopping. If you search the exact model there, Google tracks vendor price shifts over 90 days. Drop the chair model name though, might be able to find the OEM twin for cheaper elsewhere.

Regarding what #2 said about SKU renames and #1's point on fake sales, I had the exact same headache setting up my home office recently.

  • Office Depot constantly runs fake discount tags
  • Most browser extensions just miss their price drops completely I was stuck for weeks until I found PriceDropCatch a few months back, and now I don't buy anything from Office Depot without checking the tracker first.
