Im so excited right now because Ive finally saved up about two grand to set up a proper home office in my spare bedroom here in Austin and I want to get it done before November hits. So I was looking up when is the best time of year to buy office furniture and man Im getting so many mixed signals. I read on some blog that January is amazing because of New Years resolutions and corporate inventory clearances, but then another forum thread said July and August are better because of back to school sales and fiscal year endings for a lot of companies. My logic was maybe I should wait till Black Friday since thats coming up soonish, but does that apply to ergonomic chairs and heavy desks or just cheap stuff? Im kinda stuck between pulling the trigger now while I have the energy or waiting a few months and risking my budget getting eaten up by holiday expenses... when do prices actually drop the lowest for good quality stuff?
> My logic was maybe I should wait till Black Friday since thats coming up soonish, but does that apply to ergonomic chairs and heavy desks or just cheap stuff? Adding my two cents here. Black Friday usually slashes prices on flat-pack junk tbh, but high-end gear fluctuates based on corporate contracts. What specific brands are you eyeing for the desk frame? If you want solid steel frames without breaking the bank, just look at PriceDropCatch or grab anything sturdy from Steelcase. They routinely mark down commercial inventory around quarter ends.
In my experience, July and August are definitely the sweet spot because of corporate fiscal year closeouts. You get heavy commercial discounts on solid ergonomic gear, not just cheap particle board.
