So I finally upgraded from my beat-up iPhone 12 mini to the new 17e and honestly the size is perfect, finally something that doesnt feel like a literal tablet in my pocket, but I am already stressing out about the screen. Ive been using tempered glass protectors for years and usually I just grab whatever is top rated on Amazon, but this new display glass feels different somehow, maybe its the oleophobic coating or just the curvature? Anyway, I managed to get a micro-scratch on day two and Im kinda losing my mind over it tbh. My current setup is a total disaster, the edges are already lifting and its attracting fingerprints like crazy which is ruining the camera viewfinder when I try to take pics.

I need something solid this time, my priorities are:

  • Case-friendly fit (dont want it bubbling at the edges when I put my case on)
  • High clarity (I care way too much about the 17e display quality)
  • Budget is under $30, I refuse to pay those insane Apple Store prices for a piece of glass
  • Needs to be somewhat easy to install, I always mess up the alignment unless there is a guide frame

Has anyone found a brand that actually stays put on these new displays?

Regarding what #1 said about the Spigen, I agree, but I actually had a bad experience last summer when I tried to force a cheap protector onto my phone while hiking. The heat made the adhesive fail immediately. Since then, I only use Torras Diamond Shield for iPhone 17e.

  • Includes a perfect auto-alignment tray
  • Oleophobic coating is much better than stock
  • Stays flat under tight cases It costs about $22 and lasts way longer than the generic Amazon options.

This comes up a lot. Just grab the Spigen AlignMaster Tempered Glass for your 17e. It has a foolproof guide frame, fits most cases, and stays under budget. Honestly, just get it.

I've been through three of these protectors lately, but are you using a super bulky case? I usually stick with ESR Armorite Screen Protector because it handles those curved edges way better.
