Just upgraded to the iPhone 16 from an old 12 mini. The mini's battery was completely shot and I wanted a better camera and bigger screen size anyway. I've been installing tempered glass protectors myself for years. Usually I just buy the cheap bulk packs on Amazon and they work fine. But I'm having a weird issue with the 16. The bezels are so thin now that the cheap protector I bought is slightly overlapping the active display area and lifting at the corners after just two days. It's super annoying and I'm worried about scratching the screen since I carry it in my pocket with keys. I need something high-quality that actually fits the new screen geometry properly without lifting. Budget isn't really an issue, I just want something durable that aligns perfectly. What specific brands are you guys using for the 16 that actually fit the new thin bezels?

Rarely post but had to chime in because I went through this exact same headache last week. Ngl I agree with the second reply about needing case-friendly cuts because the borders are SO thin now. If you want something that actually fits without lifting and isnt insanely overpriced, check these out:

  • Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit iPhone 16 Screen Protector: Super cheap, comes with a plastic template that makes it impossible to screw up the alignment, and leaves just enough gap so cases dont push it up.
  • Torras Diamond Shield iPhone 16 Screen Protector: A bit more expensive but the glass feels smoother and the edge contouring is perfect for the new screen. Honestly just buy the Spigen pack... its like fifteen bucks and solves the lift issue completely.

I have been through three different screen protectors for the iPhone 16 already trying to find one that fits the new thin bezels. I tried cheap bulk packs years ago and they were garbage, and it seems not much has changed with the new screen geometry. If you want a precise fit, get the Belkin UltraGlass 2 Screen Protector for iPhone 16. It is the one Apple sells in their stores. The retail box comes with an easy-align tray that positions it correctly to the millimeter. My main tip is to look for protectors labeled as case-friendly. They are designed with a tiny margin around the border, which is necessary now that the bezel is so thin. This stops the lifting at the corners.

This comes up a lot ngl, search the forum next time... TL;DR: Stop buying cheap bulk packs and get something with an alignment tray. Just get the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for iPhone 16. It fits the thin bezels perfectly and the alignment frame makes it IMPOSSIBLE to mess up. Havent had any lifting issues at all...

Regarding what #1 said about "This comes up a lot ngl, search the..." - oh man, my obsession:

  • ESR Armorite iPhone 16: Tough, thick.
  • ZAGG Glass XTR3 iPhone 16: Perfect, expensive. ESR wins.
