Finally upgrading from my 13 Pro Max and honestly the battery life is just dead at this point, like it barely lasts until 4pm. Im super excited for the camera bump on the 16 Pro Max but Im worried about finding a case that actually holds onto my magnetic mount tight. Ive been looking at the Peak Design everyday case, people say the magnets are strong but I heard the fabric wears down kinda fast? Also checked out the Apple silicone ones but those always peel after a month.

My priorities are:

  • Strong magnet for car mounts
  • Slim profile (dont want it huge)
  • Under $60

What are you guys using that actually lasts?

To add to the point above: I agree that overspending is unnecessary. Last week I dropped my phone on a hike and my old case shattered, so I grabbed the Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit instead. It is much cheaper and holds perfectly on my mount.

  • Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit ($25ish)
  • JETech Magnetic Case ($15) These clear cases are slim, cheap, and stay put. Skip the expensive fabric options and save your cash.

So funny you ask this — last summer I was driving through the mountains and my phone kept flying off the mount every time I hit a pothole. It was honestly a nightmare because I was using GPS. I switched to the Caudabe Synthesis iPhone 16 Pro Max and it lowkey saved my life. It is super slim, feels like premium material that doesnt peel, and the magnets are RIDICULOUSLY strong. Honestly, stop overspending on those overpriced brand names that wear out in a month. I usually snag mine on sale or look for bundle deals on their site to keep it well under 60 bucks. If you want something that stays put and isnt bulky, just grab that one and save your money for a better car charger or something. Total game changer for me.

Man, congrats on the upgrade! Going from a 13 to a 16 is gonna feel like a massive jump, especially with that battery life — honestly, I feel you on the 4pm struggle. If you want something that sticks to your car mount like glue, stay away from those Apple silicone ones, they’re basically just fashion statements that disintegrate. I’ve been rocking a couple of different setups lately, but here’s what I’d suggest for your budget:

  • Peak Design Everyday Case iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • Honestly the magnet strength is unmatched, and yeah the fabric can show wear over time, but it handles way better than the Apple stuff.
  • Spigen MagArmor iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • If you want something slim and super cheap, this is lowkey the goat. Idk if you care about the branding, but the Spigen one feels way more premium than the price suggests. Ngl, I’d probably just grab the Peak Design if you want that extra security for the car.

Regarding what #1 said about the Peak Design, its overkill price-wise. I fix my own gear to save cash, so I stick to reliable value:

  • ESR Classic Hybrid Case with MagSafe
  • TORRAS Magnetic Slim Case These save me a ton yearly.
