So I finally bit the bullet and ordered a OnePlus Open... Im moving from an old beat up Galaxy S10 which is basically held together by tape at this point. The screen is cracked and the battery barely lasts until lunch, which is a nightmare since I use my phone for everything, but honestly Im kinda terrified of breaking this new foldable thing. Like, it feels so fragile? I have no idea how people carry these around without them snapping in half or getting scratched up the second they hit a pocket. I dont really have a huge budget left after buying the phone, but I need something that actually protects the hinge, maybe something grippy so it doesnt slide out of my hand? Ive been looking online and there are just way too many options and brands Ive never even heard of. Sorry if this is a super dumb question but are there any cases that dont make it feel like a brick while still keeping the cameras safe? What are you guys using that actually works?

Honestly, skip the expensive stuff and grab these for total hinge protection on a budget:

  • Poetic Spartan Case for OnePlus Open
  • Thinborne Aramid Fiber Case for OnePlus Open

To add to the point above: this comes up a lot, and honestly, you're stressing too much. The Open is tougher than it looks, but I get the anxiety. Everyone here has covered the big hitters, but if you want to keep it simple:

  • UAG Civilian Series for OnePlus Open for heavy-duty drops
  • Spigen Thin Fit P for OnePlus Open if you want to keep it light Just pick one and stop worrying—you'll be fine.

Saw this earlier but man, I feel you. My hands are literally butter and I am terrified of dropping mine too. Just grab the Dbrand Grip Case for OnePlus Open and call it a day.

I have three kids who destroy everything, so I know a thing or two about protection. The dealer wanted to charge me a fortune for branded accessories, but I did it for a fraction of the cost by finding smart alternatives. You do not need to spend $100 on a case to keep a foldable safe. I focus on cost per year and durability. These two options save me a ton of money while keeping that hinge secure:

  • Nillkin Frosted Shield Pro for OnePlus Open
  • This costs about $25. It is incredibly grippy and slim, so it won't feel like a brick in your pocket.
  • ZAGG Gear4 Bridgetown Case for OnePlus Open
  • You can find this on sale for around $40. It offers great drop protection and is well worth the investment compared to replacing a screen. I fixed my own display last year and saved $320 in labor costs, so just get a case with a hinge cover and you will be fine.
