I'm finally jumping ship from my old Pixel 6 Pro, which honestly has been a bit of a nightmare—the battery life is abysmal lately and the fingerprint sensor feels like a hit-or-miss lottery every single time I unlock it. I’m moving over to the OnePlus 12 because the battery/charging specs seem like a dream, but I’m super stressed about protecting this curved display. I’ve never had great luck with curved screens (my Pixel glass cracked within a month despite a cheap case).

I’ve been scouring forums and Reddit for a few days. I looked into the Whitestone Dome glass because everyone swears by the liquid adhesive, but the installation process looks terrifying—I'm worried I'll get glue in the speaker grill. Then there's the Spigen NeoFlex, which is just a film; I like that it's easy, but does it actually offer any impact protection? I’m leaning toward a tempered glass option since I toss my phone in my bag with my keys (I know, I'm bad at this), but I'm worried about touch sensitivity issues since I use the phone for a lot of mobile photography editing.

My budget is around $40-$50 for a pack if it's high quality. I really need something that won't peel at the edges when I put my case on—I'm planning on using a fairly rugged case, so the screen protector can't be too bulky or oversized.

Oh, also, does anyone know if the fingerprint sensor actually works through those thick glass protectors? That was my biggest pain point on the Pixel, and I’m desperate to avoid that frustration again.

So, between the Whitestone Dome (if I can brave the install) or maybe a cheaper, simpler tempered glass option, which one is actually going to stay on for more than a week without bubbling up at the curves?

> I'm super stressed about protecting this curved display. I’ve never had great luck with curved screens I feel your pain. I've been through three of these curved nightmares and honestly, the glass protectors are a massive headache. If you value your sanity, skip the liquid glue mess. Try the Spigen NeoFlex HD 2-Pack instead. It wont offer heavy impact protection, but it wont bubble at the edges like the glass ones do. Just be patient with the wet install.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Regarding what #2 said about "Honestly, this comes up a lot. Dealing with curved displays is just a massive headache," you can save a ton of cash by skipping the overpriced UV kits and just going for a reliable PET film or TPU option that fits under your rugged case.

  • IMBZBK Tempered Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12 for a cheaper, pre-aligned glass alternative.
  • ArmorSuit MilitaryShield Film for OnePlus 12 if you prioritize edge-to-edge coverage without the peeling nightmare. Honestly, the fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 12 is way better than the Pixel, so you wont have nearly the same issues. Just save your $40 for a better case and stick to the cheaper PET films; they wont crack and they actually stay on the curves without lifting. Lowkey, these cheaper options are better for your wallet anyway.

Honestly, this comes up a lot. Dealing with curved displays is just a massive headache and the reality is that tempered glass for those curves is usually a nightmare waiting to happen. If you decide to go the glass route, you absolutely need to be careful with the adhesive. If that stuff leaks into your speaker grill or buttons, you are basically looking at a paperweight. I have seen way too many people ruin their hardware trying to get a perfect alignment. Regarding your fingerprint sensor, those thick glass protectors are notorious for causing issues. Even if you re-register your fingerprints after installing the protector, you will likely notice a significant lag or failure rate compared to a thin film or just going naked. If you really care about using the phone for editing, the tactile feel of glass is nice, but the trade-off is often a screen that refuses to register your taps properly. If you do go for a glass option, just make sure to increase the touch sensitivity in your settings, though it is not a magic fix. Avoid any cheap, no-name glass from giant marketplaces; they almost always have weak adhesive that starts lifting within a week, especially if you shove your phone into a bag with keys. Honestly, just get something thin and focus on a case with a raised lip that actually protects the edges of the glass when you inevitably drop it...
