so i finally decided to pull the trigger on the s26 ultra upgrading from my old s22 ultra which honestly has been such a tank but the screen is just covered in micro-scratches at this point and it drives me crazy... anyway i was looking at screen protectors and i saw everyone raving about the whitestone dome ones because of the uv glue thing but then i read that the new s26 might have that anti-reflective glass like the last one had and im worried a glass protector is gonna just ruin that feature entirely? but then spigen has those easy fit ones which look way easier to install tbh but i dont know if they protect as well or if theyll mess with the fingerprint scanner so i was thinking maybe i should just go naked but i cant risk it with how much this thing costs since im mostly getting it for the camera and battery life... what are you guys actually using?
Search the forum, there is already a massive thread about this, but the short answer is that any tempered glass protector will negate the anti-reflective coating. Glass is naturally reflective. If you want to keep the anti-glare feature, use the Samsung Official Anti-Reflecting Film. It costs around $30 for a two-pack. It prevents micro-scratches effectively but offers minimal impact protection. For drop protection, Whitestone Dome Glass UV Gen is the standard for the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Complex install but has the best adhesive bond. The Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit is easier to apply but often requires re-registering fingerprints and increasing touch sensitivity. Use the official film if you value the screen's visual properties over drop safety.
I've used Ringke Dual Easy Film for years. It handles micro-scratches fine and doesn't lift at the edges. Tip: install it in a steamy bathroom to prevent dust bubbles.
