im honestly so fed up running all over town trying to catch those crazy clearance markdowns at my local kohls just to find out the online trackers lied to me again! drove 20 miles out to the west end store yesterday because brickseek said they had like ten of those espresso machines for $40 and literally none were left. are these clearance price trackers even accurate or just a total waste of time?

Ah man, driving 20 miles for a ghost inventory item is the worst feeling ever. Honestly, those inventory trackers hit roadblocks because Kohl's backend API updates way slower than actual foot traffic does. The inventory data gets cached across different servers, meaning a sold item online might still show as active stock for hours.

  • Call the store directly and ask them to physically scan the barcode instead of relying on the app.
  • Look for the actual clearance endcaps rather than trusting shelf tags.
  • Avoid driving out during peak weekend hours. Once I started calling ahead for big ticket items like kitchenware, my success rate went way up. Saves so much gas tbh!
