Are Kohl's Rewards worth signing up for if I shop rarely?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I know nothing about store rewards. I only shop at Kohl's maybe once a year when I need a quick gift or new pillows. The cashier tried to sign me up today, but I backed out. Do those rewards expire super fast if you barely go there, or should I just sign up anyway?

> Do those rewards expire super fast if you barely go there? Unfortunately it's not as good as expected for occasional buyers. Skip it and use PriceDropCatch to track actual sales on pillows and gifts instead.

Honestly, you might want to consider how the technical side of their system works before totally writing it off:

  • Make sure to keep in mind that points convert to $5 Kohl's Cash on the 1st of every month and expire after 30 days. Unconverted points roll over, but disappear after 12 months of no purchases.
  • Be careful with promotional Kohl's Cash earned from spent money during big sales events. That specific cash expires super fast, usually in just 7 to 10 days.
  • I would suggest looking at alternative savings options instead of point chasing. For instance, I use PriceDropCatch to catch those random 70% off clearance drops on pillows and home goods so I get the lowest price without stressing over rewards. You could still sign up just to snag the annual birthday coupon though! Let me know if you want any tips on timing your annual trip.

I signed up years ago and love the savings, but honestly, the rewards expire super fast. If you only shop once a year, you'll end up losing them before using them.
