I spent over $200 at Sephora last weekend in downtown Austin just restocking my basic skincare and a new foundation, and my bank account is literally crying right now. Prices have gotten completely out of hand lately, especially for simple stuff like cleanser and moisturizer. I refuse to give up my holy grail products entirely, but I really need to tone down my spending before my birthday trip in two months. I know people talk about minis, rewards points, or shopping sales, but there has to be better tricks out there. What are your best budget-friendly Sephora shopping hacks for savings?

Over the years I've tried pretty much every trick out there because Sephora prices are getting wild. What specific foundation and moisturizer are you trying to restock though? In my experience, if they're higher-end brands that rarely go on sale, I set alerts on PriceDropCatch so I can snag them during random price drops. Drop your product list, happy to suggest direct dupes too!

One trick people overlook is doing the math on value sets versus individual items. Sephora Favorites boxes usually drop around season changes, and the price per ounce ends up being way cheaper. Sometimes you get full-size vouchers inside a 35 dollar sampler box for a product that normally costs 70 or 80 dollars on its own. Another solid option is tracking price drops on your holy grail items instead of paying full retail the second you run out. I set up alerts on this Sephora price tracker to catch when specific items go on sale or drop in price. Sephora runs their 20 percent off sales a couple times a year, but individual brand promos or gift-with-purchase codes stack up better if you time it right. If you really want to cut costs without dropping performance, look closely at ingredient lists for technical dupes. A lot of high-end moisturizers use basic ceramide or hyaluronic formulas that mid-tier lines like The Inkey List or Naturium replicate for 12 to 15 bucks instead of 60. Swap out the basic steps like cleansers first since they wash right off anyway, and save your budget for active serums or foundation where formula quality actually makes a huge difference.

  • I switched to buying any skincare from The Ordinary during sales, works well and no complaints.
  • Grab Sephora Collection minis for travel, keeps me super satisfied without breaking the bank.
