Are third-party Amazon sellers safe to buy from?

Ive been ordering stuff on Prime for like ten years without issues but today I tried to buy a mirrorless camera body for my trip to Chicago next month and noticed it's fulfilled by some random third-party seller instead of Amazon directly even though it says new. Total came out to around 850 bucks which is way too much money to get scammed on. Are these marketplace third-party guys actually safe to buy expensive electronics from or am I just asking for a headache?

Oh man this reminds me of when my cousin bought a vintage lens and it showed up filled with sand... wild times lol. Check out a price drop tool if you keep shopping around.

Honestly, for an expensive item like an 850 dollar camera, I would cancel that order immediately. Third-party sellers on Amazon are a huge gamble for high-value electronics because of potential grey market items, fake warranties, or outright scams. Even if Amazon handles the fulfillment, you can still end up with returned or tampered gear. When I buy expensive tech online, I stick strictly to authorized dealers like B&H or Adorama. If you really want to check the legitimacy of a seller and track historical price drops, you should check out this extension. It saved me from buying from shady storefronts more than once. Better safe than sorry when youre dealing with that much cash right before a trip.

Honestly id cancel that order right now. For gear like that stick to official authorized dealers or just get any mirrorless body from B&H or local camera shops instead.
