My mates birthday in London is tomorrow and I need to send him my Amazon UK cart of party gear. Im torn between using a third-party extension like Share-A-Cart or just making a wish list, but Im worried the extension might steal my data. Is there a way to just send the cart directly?

I get being paranoid about security, honestly. I was super skeptical too but ended up using the Share-a-Cart extension for a group gift last month and was really satisfied with how it handled everything. No complaints at all, it works well and keeps things simple. If youre still worried about data stuff though, the safest workaround is just turning the cart into a Wish List. It takes like two seconds. You just go to your cart, click Move to Wish List on the items, make the list public/shared, and send him the link. Zero risk of anyone snooping your account info. Just keep in mind that if some items have dynamic pricing or go out of stock, the price might shift a bit for your friend. But for zero-risk sharing, its definitely the most reliable way to go.

I had the same security reservations last year when setting up a collab project. I analyzed how these cart transfer extensions work. Most parse the DOM of your cart page and generate a JSON payload, rather than accessing your actual session cookies, so your payment data remains secure. I was satisfied with the security audit I did on my browser network tab. Quick tip if you want to avoid extensions: just use the 'Add all to list' button on the cart page, make it public, and share that link. Works well and keeps everything within Amazon. btw if you're shopping with others, Cart to Link lets you share your whole Amazon cart as a link — super handy for group buys

Amazon doesnt have a direct cart share option. I use this cart sharing tool to save on shipping. Otherwise, try:

  • Share a wishlist
  • Send screenshots

Regarding what #3 said about "I get being paranoid about security, honestly" - the bigger problem is reliability. Unfortunately, cart extensions are not as good as expected anymore. I had issues with half the items silently dropping out of the recipient cart when transferring on Amazon UK lately. Quick tip: just copy the ASIN codes from the URLs and dump them into a chat message. Takes 30 seconds and zero code glitches. Honestly reminds me of when I tried ordering party decorations for a mate in London last autumn. Prime delivery botched it so badly they left paper banners outside in the rain under a wheelie bin. Total nightmare trying to get refunds on soaked gear. But yeah, just stick to copying ASINs or a basic wish list.
