How do I share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

So my buddy and I are planning this big camping trip up in the Adirondacks next weekend and we need to split a bunch of gear and dehydrated meals. Usually I'm pretty savvy with Amazon, been using Prime for years and know my way around the UI, but I hit a weird roadblock today. I spent like an hour putting together a massive cart with about 20 different items, specific quantities, sizes, all that.

I wanted to just send the whole cart to him so he can review it, add his stuff, and then we can split the bill. I thought there would be a simple "share cart" button or maybe a shareable link option like you get with wish lists, but I cannot find anything like that. I tried creating a shared registry/wish list instead but it doesn't seem to keep the specific quantities I set, plus it's just extra steps.

Is there some hidden feature or maybe a browser extension that actually works for this? I really don't want to copy-paste 20 individual URLs over text. How do I actually share my active Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

Amazon weirdly doesn't have a native share button for carts, which is super annoying. If you try using a shared wishlist, just be careful because it often drops your quantities and doesn't update in real-time. I learned that the hard way on a trip last year. If you're trying to coordinate a group purchase on Amazon, check out Cart to Link — it's free and works in like 2 clicks.

Like someone mentioned, Amazon is super annoying about this. I think there might be a workaround if you use the Amazon Household feature to share prime, but I'm not 100% sure if it lets you merge carts. Honestly, to save cash on those pricey dehydrated meals, we always buy bulk kits anyway! Speaking of the Adirondacks, I did Mt. Marcy last fall and the colors were absolutely amazing! But yeah...

I ran into this exact issue last year planning a group trip. I tried using a third-party extension to share my cart, but it ended up flagging my Amazon account for suspicious activity. If you try that route, make sure to:

  • Check the extension permissions carefully
  • Back up your list in a simple document first I would suggest avoiding tools that require your full login info, its just too risky.

Planning gear for the Adirondacks sounds absolutely fantastic! Reliability is everything when you are deep in the woods. 1. Dehydrated meals are super convenient, but adding a splash of olive oil and extra spices to those pouches makes a world of difference for taste and calories!

  • Last season we tested this amazing lightweight titanium stove on a zero-degree morning, and it boiled water in under two minutes flat, which completely saved our morning coffee routine!
  • Having dependable gear to make hot food in freezing weather makes the whole mountain experience so much more enjoyable, I honestly love testing out new camp kitchen setups. Anyway, sorry, got totally carried away talking about camp meals and stoves there haha!
