Trying to checkout on Kohls right now buying new shoes for my kids and the cart math is driving me nuts. I have $30 in Kohls cash and a 20% off coupon code, but my total seems way higher than it should be. Does Kohls Cash get applied before or after promo codes?
> Does Kohls Cash get applied before or after promo codes? Saw this earlier and had to reply because I have the exact same issue in my cart right now! I am really satisfied with Kohl's deals normally, but this discount order math is driving me crazy today and I cant find a clear answer anywhere. Quick question for you before we dig deeper... are you using a site-wide percentage code or a specific category coupon? I want to make sure we are looking at the same setup. I always try to be super cautious with my budget, so I usually check this Kohl's price tracker first to ensure baseline savings are real, but this cart total is still confusing me. Hope we can figure this out together!
TL;DR: Kohls Cash gets deducted first from your gross subtotal, and then your 20% promo code applies only to whatever balance is left. I actually broke down their checkout order of operations a few months back after getting burnt on a pair of running shoes. Had $40 in Kohls Cash and a 30% sitewide code on a $150 item. In a consumer-friendly checkout, 30% comes off first ($150 to $105), then $40 cash brings it to $65. Unfortunately, their backend software treats Kohls Cash as a preliminary subtotal reduction, not a payment method. So the actual algorithm runs like this:
Unfortunately, Kohls Cash applies before promo codes, which makes discounts not as good as expected. Had issues with cart math recently too.
