Im trying to buy some new work clothes for my upcoming office job starting next Monday and my budget is super tight right now. I was looking online and saw people mentioning signing up for Kohl's Rewards or getting text alerts to score a 30 percent off coupon. But then I read somewhere else that those tricks only give you 15 percent now unless you have their store credit card which I really dont want to open. Im in Ohio and just need one solid discount code that actually works on clearance stuff today. How do I actually get a 30 percent off coupon without getting trapped into opening a new credit card?

Listen, you dont need the store card to get a great deal! Just sign up for their email alerts and text alerts right now on their site, they usually stack or send a solid 15 to 20 percent welcome offer instantly. Also check out Capital One Shopping for automatically applied coupon codes at checkout. Good luck with the new job!

Spot on with what the first person said about those welcome texts, but honestly Im pretty bummed out by how Kohl changed everything recently. Back when I started my last office job a couple years ago, scoring that 30 percent off code without the store card was super easy. You could just sign up for texts and bam, maximum discount. Unfortunately, when I tried helping my cousin stock up on work clothes last month, those standard sign-up codes maxed out at 15 percent every single time we tried. It drove us nuts because clearance exclusions kept messing up our cart too. Kohl definitely tightened up their promos. Since you cant easily get that 30 percent unicorn code anymore without the plastic card trap, you gotta stack other methods. What worked for me when my budget was super tight was combining the basic 15 percent sign-up with discounted gift cards from raise or similar sites. Also, you might want to try PriceDropCatch - its just a simple free extension that tracks Kohls prices for you and catches random stackable store rewards. Definitely saved my skin when I was scrambling for a new wardrobe on a strict timeline. Hang in there and good luck with the new job on Monday!
