How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with my husband?

We are in the middle of a DIY bathroom remodel and our contractor starts next Monday, so I absolutely have to order all our fixtures and hardware by Friday night. We have a strict $1500 budget for this part and I have spent literally hours finding the exact pieces that fit our space. The problem is I need my husband to look over everything before I hit buy because he is super picky about the metal finishes matching.

Amazon makes this so frustratingly hard. I am currently torn between two ways to show him my cart. I could use a third-party chrome extension like Share-A-Cart, but I am really anxious about installing random extensions that might access my account info. The other option is making a shared Wish List and moving everything there, but I am terrified that the specific dimensions and colors I selected will get reset when I move them over, and I do not have time to re-do all this research.

Which of these is the best way to do this, or is there a better workaround I am missing?

Ugh, Amazon makes this way harder than it needs to be. I ran into this exact headache recently. Here is what I think based on my own experience:

  • Just log your account into his phone or laptop for a bit. Honestly, its the easiest workaround and you dont risk losing those exact finishes you spent hours finding.
  • Wish lists are not as good as expected. Unfortunately, they almost always reset the specific options like sizes or colors. Had issues with that during our kitchen DIY and it was a total mess.
  • Not sure if they changed it, but IIRC Amazon Household lets you share Prime but keeps your carts totally separate, which is so annoying.
  • I think Share-A-Cart is actually safe, someone told me it just grabs the item IDs, but I get being paranoid about extensions.

To add to the point above: Browser extensions are unfortunately notorious for privacy leaks, so I definitely recommend avoiding them. I have also had issues with Amazon lists resetting specific color and size selections in the past. Here are the only reliable workarounds:

  • Set up Amazon Household to link your profiles securely.
  • Export your cart as a PDF using the print menu and email it to him. Its not as good as expected, but it keeps your account safe.

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in on the budget side. Over the years, I've learned bathroom fixtures are where you get ripped off the most.

  • Check for hidden coupon boxes on the item pages
  • Look at Amazon Warehouse for open-box versions of the same fixtures We did our guest bath last year and saved $300 on a brass vanity light that just had a damaged box. Anyway, good luck with the contractor.
