What is the easiest way to share an Amazon cart?

Ive been shopping on Amazon for literally over a decade now and I thought I knew pretty much all the basic features inside and out. I mean Ive made wishlists and idea lists a million times and shared those with family for holidays and stuff. But today I ran into a totally different situation and Im kinda stumped by how weirdly difficult it is. Basically my coworker Dave and I are putting together an order for some office gear and snack supplies for our small studio here in Austin, total budget is around 450 bucks and we need everything delivered by this Friday. My logic was I could just dump everything into a standard cart since wed need to checkout under one corporate card anyway, and then just send him a link so he can review it and maybe swap out some of the coffee pods or add extra printer paper before I actually hit buy. But when I went looking for a share cart button... nothing. Just sharing wishlists. Which is fine if we want to buy things separately later, but totally useless when we have a pre-loaded cart ready to go. I tried looking for a collaborator option or a way to export the cart items into a shared list quickly without having to search for every single item all over again, but my usual workflow just isnt cutting it here. Am I missing something super obvious in the settings, or does Amazon seriously still not let you just share an active cart with someone else?

You aren't missing anything obvious, Amazon genuinely still does not have a direct button to share an active shopping cart. I ran into this exact same issue last year when ordering supplies for our team and it is super frustrating. Before you try any weird workarounds, be careful with security. I would suggest avoiding any third-party browser extensions that claim to share carts because you never know what kind of data they are scraping from your account, especially if corporate cards are involved. Here is the safest way to handle it without risking your login info:

  • Create a temporary Idea List and dump everything from your cart into it.
  • Share that list link with your coworker so he can review the items.
  • Move the items back into your active cart once he gives you the green light. It adds an extra step, but making a list is much safer than sharing passwords or using sketchy plugins. Just make sure to double check the delivery dates before hitting checkout since Amazon inventory shifts fast. Better safe than sorry when you are dealing with a strict Friday deadline and company money.

@Reply #1 - good point! Safety really should come first when dealing with corporate cards and shared accounts online. Just catching up on this thread and wanted to jump in because I dealt with this exact headache a few months ago for our office. Honestly, I would suggest being super careful about logging into the same account from different locations just to share a cart. Amazon's security algorithms get weirdly triggered by that sometimes and might freeze your card or flag the account for suspicious activity, which is the last thing you need when trying to hit a Friday delivery deadline. Since you are working with a strict 450 dollar budget, the safest workaround is making a private wishlist, dumping everything in there, and then sharing that specific list with your coworker. He can view it without messing up your login session. Just make sure to double check prices before adding things, because sometimes items jump in price by the time you move them back into the active checkout area. Also, keep an eye out for any hidden coupons on those coffee pods or printer paper listings while you are rebuilding the list. Every little bit helps when you are trying to stay under budget for the studio. Let me know if you need help finding a better way to track those prices!

Let's optimize that 450 dollar office supply budget right now! Since Amazon lacks a native cart sharing feature, you need a methodical approach to track costs and stay under budget without manual re-entry.

  • Move all items into a shared Wishlist temporarily so your coworker can review quantities and pricing.
  • Enable Subscribe and Save on eligible coffee pods and snacks to shave 10-15 percent off the subtotal immediately.
  • Apply any applicable corporate cashback or portal rewards before final payment. Data tracking is everything when managing team funds. Once Dave reviews the wishlist items, just bulk-add them straight back into your active cart for the final corporate card checkout. Efficiency achieved!
