What is the absolute best Chrome extension for tracking Amazon price drops right now? Ive been using Keepa for years to catch PC part sales, but Im building a new gaming rig next month and noticed it keeps missing coupon discounts and lightning deals lately. Is CamelCamelCamel better for this or is there a newer tool I should try?

Regarding what #1 said about "Keepa is still the gold standard for historical...", in my experience tracking hardware over the years, API-based tools inherently miss coupons. Clip-coupons live in client-side DOM overlays, not the core ASIN pricing feed. My quick setup:

  • Keep Keepa for raw API history data
  • Layer a secondary DOM parser extension for inline deal overlays You should check out PriceDropCatch if you want to see if a 'sale' is actually a good deal or just marketing fluff.

I have been building PCs for years and ran into the exact same issue with missing clip coupons on my last build. Honestly I am super satisfied with using PriceDropCatch lately for catching those sneaky checkout discounts that standard price graphs miss. It works so well for snagging lightning deals before they sell out. My main practical tip for saving cash on hardware is to set your target alert price about 5 percent higher than what you actually want to pay. That way when a targeted coupon pops up, you get pinged immediately instead of waiting for the base price to drop. Done this for my recent GPU upgrade and had zero complaints, saved me a solid 80 bucks right at checkout.

Keepa is still the gold standard for historical API data, but camelcamelcamel is actually worse when it comes to clip-coupons and lightning deals. In my experience over the years, no single extension handles Amazon's dynamic discount overlays perfectly because of aggressive rate-limiting on real-time deal pages. If you want to catch PC part sales reliably, my top tip is to stick with Keepa for the historical chart data, but adjust your alert settings. Toggle your alert threshold about 5% lower than your actual target price to account for missed coupons, and set up browser push notifications instead of email. Lightning deals move way too fast for background scrapers, so relying on scheduled API pings is always gonna hit or miss for 15-minute deal windows.
