Im so hyped to finally upgrade from my old iPhone 12, honestly the battery life on that thing is basically non-existent now and I find myself carrying a power bank everywhere which is just a total pain, plus the camera struggles so much in low light. I finally bit the bullet and preordered the 17e because I really wanted something compact that isnt gonna weigh down my pocket, but now Im spiraling about keeping the screen pristine. I saw some people online recommending those privacy glass ones but then others say they make the screen look super grainy and weird in sunlight so Im honestly just stuck. I also looked at those liquid glass kits but that seems kinda like a scam tbh? I really dont want to mess up the screen quality since I finally have a decent camera again. Im looking for something that is actually easy to install because I have zero patience for bubbles and maybe under $30 if possible. Does anyone have a solid brand they trust for the 17e that doesnt compromise on clarity or touch sensitivity? Really dont want to waste money on junk...

Honestly, skip the liquid stuff, it is total garbage. I tried that years ago and it did nothing. If you want crystal clear and easy install, just grab one of these:

  • Spigen AlignMaster Tempered Glass I have been through three of these on different phones. They come with an alignment tray so no bubbles, super cheap, and you wont lose any clarity. Total lifesaver.

@Reply #2 - good point! Everyone recommends the big-name multipacks, but honestly, those cheap frames often flex, which leads to misalignment. I have found that spending a bit more on a single, high-quality sheet is better than dealing with three mediocre ones that collect dust at the edges. I have used Torras Diamond Shield for iPhone 17e for my last two upgrades. It costs slightly more than the budget multi-packs, but the adhesive is objectively superior. Most people complain about bubbles because they rush the cleaning process. If you want a perfect result, use a desk lamp to inspect for micro-dust after the alcohol wipe; if you see even one speck, use the sticker to lift it before dropping the glass. That is the only real secret to a clean install. I strongly suggest staying away from the privacy screens, as they destroy the color accuracy of the new display. You bought the 17e for a better camera and screen, so don't slap a filter over it. The Torras Diamond Shield for iPhone 17e is clear, oleophobic, and actually lasts without peeling at the corners after a month of pocket friction. It stays under your $30 budget and feels closer to the native glass than the cheaper, thinner alternatives.

Privacy screens are a waste of money if you actually care about image quality. You lose way too much brightness, and the grainy grid effect is real. I've been through three of these privacy-style guards on past phones and ended up ripping them off every time because the clarity was atrocious. Skip the liquid glass kits too. I tried that gimmick years ago and it was garbage; things may have changed, but it offers zero impact protection and is impossible to remove if you mess it up. For the iPhone 17e, stick to high-quality tempered glass. I currently use ESR Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 17e and it is consistently the best for the price. It usually costs under $15 for a multi-pack. The installation frame is idiot-proof, which is the only way to get a bubble-free finish without stressing out. It sits flush, doesn't interfere with the touch sensitivity, and the oleophobic coating is decent enough that you won't be wiping fingerprints off every five minutes. If you want to keep the screen pristine without sacrificing the visual quality you paid for, this is the way to go. Don't overthink it.
