So I finally pulled the trigger on a OnePlus 15 and honestly Im pretty stoked about it since my old Pixel 6 Pro was just falling apart at the seams. My biggest issue with the Pixel was definitely the battery life—it was absolute trash by the end of the day—and the size was just a bit too unwieldy in my jeans. Im hoping the 15 is a bit better for one-handed use and obviously the camera is a huge priority for me.

But now I have this shiny new screen and Im terrified of scratching it within the first week. Everyone keeps talking about tempered glass vs. film protectors and honestly I dont know what to believe. I was looking at that Whitestone Dome glass because a ton of people on Reddit swear by it, but then I read a few posts saying the installation is a total nightmare with the UV glue and if you mess it up, youve just wasted like 50 bucks. Then there are those cheaper plastic film options, but those feel like they wont do anything if I drop it on the sidewalk.

My logic was that since the 15 has that slightly curved display, maybe a standard flat glass protector wont even sit flush? I dont want bubbles on the edges, that drives me insane. Is it worth paying for the fancy liquid adhesive ones, or is there a decent, easier-to-apply tempered option out there that wont break the bank? Im kinda lost here. If anyone has actually put a protector on their 15 and hasnt had it crack or peel off after a week, I would love to know what brand you went with or if I should just risk it and go naked... though I definitely dont have the budget to replace the screen if I drop it.

Congrats on ditching the Pixel 6 Pro, honestly that battery drain issue was notorious. Regarding the screen protector situation for your new OnePlus 15 6.8-inch AMOLED, I honestly wouldn't bother with the hype surrounding stuff like the Whitestone Dome. Sure, people on Reddit act like it's the gold standard, but that UV glue setup is a massive headache—if even a tiny bit leaks into your speaker grill or buttons, you're looking at a permanent mess. It's way over-engineered for what it is, and you're paying a premium just for a complex installation process that’s basically asking for a user error. Since the display has those curves, flat glass is definitely a non-starter—it’ll lift at the edges and collect lint within a day, which is infuriating. I’ve had much better luck simply grabbing a decent TPU film or a hybrid glass-film protector. They aren't going to save your screen if you drop it from ten feet onto concrete, but realistically, tempered glass doesn't offer much more drop protection anyway; it just shatters so you don't have to look at the crack. Check out IQ Shield LiquidSkin Screen Protector, it’s significantly cheaper than the liquid adhesive kits and actually conforms to the curves without those annoying air pockets. It’s not quite as "glassy" to the touch, but it lasts. Don't fall for the "premium" marketing trap—you just need something that stays put.

Listen, stop overthinking it. You don't need to spend fifty bucks on glue kits. Get the Supershieldz Tempered Glass for OnePlus 15 2-Pack. It costs less than a lunch and does the job. Look, install it in a steamy bathroom to keep the dust down. Use the cleaning kit provided. It fits the curves fine and saves you money for a decent case. Don't overpay for branding.

Coming back to this, I'm no expert but I just spent all last week stressing over the same thing. I eventually settled on the IMBZBK Tempered Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 15 because it comes with an alignment tool that actually works. My biggest tip: watch the installation video on their site twice before you even touch the adhesive. It makes a HUGE difference. Also, stay away from the cheap no-name stuff on Amazon, itll just bubble within hours...
