Can someone please just tell me what the best protective cases for OnePlus 12 actually are before I drop this phone and shatter it too? Honestly Im so fed up with my old Pixel 6, the battery barely lasts half a day anymore and it gets super hot whenever I try to use the camera for more than five minutes, which is my main pain point tbh. So I finally upgraded and my new OnePlus 12 just arrived, but Im terrified to even take it out of the box without a proper case lined up. Im on a pretty tight budget now after buying the phone, maybe like 20 or 30 bucks max, but I really need something heavy duty because Im super clumsy and drop my phone constantly. Key priority for me is definitely drop protection without making the phone feel like an absolute brick in my pocket, though I know those two things kinda conflict. Ive been looking at Spigen and OtterBox but half the reviews say they interfere with the curved screen or wireless charging and I just cant deal with more tech frustration this week... what are you guys using?

Congrats on the upgrade — ditching that old Pixel 6 sounds like a huge relief. For your budget and drop anxiety, grab the Spigen Tough Armor for OnePlus 12 or Ringke Fusion-X for OnePlus 12.

  • Spigen Tough Armor: Maximum drop protection with a built-in kickstand, though it adds some bulk.
  • Ringke Fusion-X: Better price point and grip, with rugged bumper corners that don't mess with the curved edges. Drop it in one of those and breathe easy.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. I have been through three of these OnePlus generations now and honestly, the struggle is real. I tried OtterBox Defender Series for OnePlus 12 years ago on a different device and it was just absolute GARBAGE, way too bulky and it felt like carrying a brick. Things might have changed since then but I never went back. If you want my honest take on what works without losing your mind, here is where I landed:

  • Poetic Guardian Case for OnePlus 12: It is basically the king of budget protection. The built-in screen protector is kinda trash so I always just rip it out, but the actual frame is legit. It handles drops way better than anything else in this price range.
  • Spigen Liquid Air for OnePlus 12: If you get sick of the bulk, this is the one. It is super thin and feels great in the hand, but tbh it is not gonna save you if you drop your phone on a boulder. It is just for those low-impact clumsy moments. I have been through enough shattered screens to know that no case is magic. If you are as clumsy as you say, just grab the Poetic one and maybe get a decent screen protector separately since the curved glass makes everything a pain anyway. Dont overthink it, just get something on there so you can actually use the phone...

@Reply #1 - good point! Late to the party but idl man, Ive dropped way too many phones in my life and honestly tried X years ago and it was garbage, things may have changed though. I've been through three of these OnePlus generations now and finding a case that doesnt mess with the curved screen is an absolute pain. Here is what actually works without going broke:

  • Poetic Guardian Case for OnePlus 12 - usually sits around 20-25 bucks. Built-in screen protector is meh, so I pop it out, but the frame is solid and it takes a beating.
  • Spigen Liquid Air for OnePlus 12 - if you want slim. Only like 16 bucks. It wont survive a 10-foot drop onto concrete, but for pocketability its decent. Honestly dont stress too much about the wireless charging thing unless you use a weird thick charging pad... most cases under thirty bucks handle it fine nowadays...
